  • Patent number: 11286020
Abstract: A ballast water-free ship using a difference in the depth of the bottom shell plate between the bow/stern and the midship section and a construction method thereof. A stepped portion is formed between either the bow or the stern and the midship section, such that the depth of the bottom shell plate of either the bow or the stern differs from the depth of the bottom shell plate of the cargo containment in the midship section, so that cargo can be loaded and unloaded without ballast water operation.

  • Patent number: 10945689
Abstract: A mobile radiation generator includes an arm part on which an irradiation section is mounted. The height of the irradiation section is changed in a case in which the arm part is rotated. A spring generates negative rotational moment in a negative direction where the irradiation section is displaced upward against positive rotational moment that acts on the arm part in a positive direction due to own weight of the irradiation section and the like. A friction mechanism is built in a pillar. In a case in which the magnitude of the positive rotational moment and the magnitude of the negative rotational moment are different from each other, the friction mechanism generates a frictional force acting in a direction opposite to a direction where the arm part is to be rotated due to a difference between the positive rotational moment and the negative rotational moment and cancelling the difference.

  • Patent number: 8007248
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, the momentum of oil-containing air rotating with a crankshaft counterweight in an engine crankcase is converted to static pressure by blocking the flow and directing the resulting static pressure through an orifice to a vent chamber wherein the pressure acts against a cam ring of a variable displacement oil pump. The arrangement modifies the action of an oil pressure control by increasing the effective pump outlet pressure as a function of engine speed using relatively low cost modifications of the engine and oil pump. This pressure may also be used in various ways to modify the control functions of other devices.

  • Patent number: 6571918
Abstract: An apparatus for delivering metered amounts of a first fluid, such as a lubricating oil, to a remote location comprises a metering plate coupled to a drive for moving the metering plate between a first position in which a fluid receptacle in the metering head is filled with the fluid and a second position in which the filled receptacle is placed between first and second ports for transfer of the fluid into and through a delivery line. The first port provides a source of a carrier fluid to drive the first fluid, while the second port is coupled to a delivery line to the remote location. The first and second ports form a portion of a manifold assembly, which in conjunction with the metering plate comprise a metering head. The metering head may be submerged in a reservoir of the first fluid such that, in the first position, a receptacle is directly exposed to the reservoir whereby the receptacle is filled with a first fluid without the need for pumps or pressurization of the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4231716
Abstract: A mechanical lubricating pump for supplying lubricating oil to rotary parts of machines and equipment. A rotatable distributor is inserted in the lengthwise direction of a pump body, and a suction port and a discharge port are provided in the diametrical direction of the body. A worm gear is disposed at one end of the distributor, while a plunger is inserted at the other end. Upon rotation of the distributor, the plunger executes relative movements in the axial direction, so that the pumping action is effected to suck and discharge the lubricating oil. The distributor has means by which the roles of the suction port and the discharge port at the time of the forward rotation of a driving source are maintained as they are when the driving source is reversely rotated.

Abstract: An actuation device for a tachometer adapted to transmit the revolutions of an engine crankshaft to the tachometer, wherein the oil pump of the engine is utilized as a speed reducing mechanism for transmitting the revolutions of the engine crankshaft to the tachometer after the engine speed is reduced. A cable connected at one end to the plunger of the oil pump whose speed is reduced by means of a gearing is connected at the other end to the tachometer. • Patent number: 4024930
Abstract: A chain lubricating device in which lubricating fluid passes through an inlet line into a shaft to a piston chamber in a pump body where the lubricating fluid is then evacuated to discharge device located on a sprocket to which the pump body is attached, both the pump body and sprocket being adapted to rotate about the fixed shaft. The pump body has a piston and cylinder for receiving and for evacuating lubricating fluid. When the lubricating fluid is evacuated it passes through a passage from the pump body to the sprocket positioned on the shaft. As the sprocket and the pump body rotate about the shaft, the lubricating inlet manifold in the shaft will intermittently align itself with the inlet to the pump body to receive a lubricating fluid, while at the same time the lubricating outlet manifold of the shaft intermittently aligns itself with a passage leading to the sprocket. The lubricating fluid then enters the sprocket and is then discharged from an outlet onto the conveyor system.
