Weight-operated Patents (Class 184/46)
  • Patent number: 7080620
Abstract: An internal combustion engine including structure for lubricating at least one bearing disposed therein. The engine includes an engine housing including a cylinder with a reciprocating piston of the engine and a crankcase volume with a crankshaft having the at least one bearing operatively connected thereto, wherein the crankcase volume contains at least air and a lubricant. Additionally, the engine includes a counterweight arrangement that provides an essentially solid circular profile, at least one passageway on the counterweight arrangement extending to a location adjacent to the engine housing, and at least one passageway extending through the engine housing from a location adjacent to the counterweight to the at least one bearing, wherein the two passageways are selectably aligned by movement of the piston to cause a lubricating flow between the at least one bearing and the crankcase volume.

  • Patent number: 6631787
Abstract: A lubrication system for a vibratory apparatus such as a hydraulic striking device. The system includes a lubricant pump for pumping lubricant to one or more points of lubrication on the device and a drive for the pump powered in response to vibration of the device. The system includes a base for attachment to the device for vibration therewith, and a lubricant pump for pumping lubricant from a supply. The pump includes a cylinder and a plunger reciprocable in the cylinder through a stroke between a retracted position for intake of lubricant into the cylinder and a forward position for delivery of the intake from the cylinder. A weight is mounted on the base for oscillation in response to the vibration of the device, oscillation of the weight effecting reciprocation of the plunger through a stroke.

  • Patent number: 6220393
Abstract: An oil supply apparatus for a linear compressor reduces the number of valves which control oil suction and discharge, thereby enabling fabrication and assembly of an apparatus and supplying an oil of an adequate amount to friction areas of driving elements, and increases a compression force of a mass, thereby increasing circulation volume of an oil. The oil supply apparatus for the linear compressor, includes: a compressor unit in which an oil discharge outlet is formed; an oil supply pipe disposed at an outer side of the compressor unit, an end of which communicates with an end of the oil discharge outlet; an oil valve an end of which is fixedly engaged with a side portion of the compressor unit and the other end of which is selectively in contact with the other end of the oil discharge outlet; and a discharge cover positioned at an outer side of the oil valve and engaged with the compressor unit, so that an oil path is formed between the discharge cover and the compressor unit.

  • Patent number: 6089352
Abstract: The present invention relates to an oil supply apparatus for a linear compressor in which elastic members are excluded, wherein oil contained in an oil supply unit is exhausted by inertia and flowed into an oil pocket which communicates with a friction portion between a cylinder and a piston in the process of which the oil supply unit reciprocates in accordance with the vibration of a compressor unit. Thus, the oil supply apparatus for the linear compressor has advantages of reducing manufacturing costs and improving the productivity.

  • Patent number: 5730250
Abstract: A gear type grease pump includes a motor fixed on the top surface of a base plate, a gear type pump fixed on the bottom surface of the base plate, the pump having a pair of gears engaged with each other and rotationally driven by the motor for rotating, a housing body and a bottom cover for accommodating the two gears, and a grease inlet and a grease outlet opposite to the grease inlet both provided on the housing body. A grease sweeping blade is located below the bottom cover and driven by the pump. A sealing ring is fixed along the bottom surface periphery of the base plate. A perforated mesh hood is located within the sealing ring and encloses the gear type pump and the grease sweeping blade. And a grease path is provided inside the base plate to communicate with the grease outlet path when the pump is fixed on the base plate, and the outlet of the grease path is connected with a conventional grease gun.

  • Patent number: 3951235
Abstract: A greasing device for cables comprising at least one hollow body having walls defining an inner chamber adapted to be filled with a predetermined quantity of a lubricating material having a relatively high coefficient of viscosity, and a predetermined pressure. At least one couple of apertures are provided through said walls for a cable to be greased to extend therethrough and across said inner chamber so as to come into contact with said lubricating material inside said chamber; the size of said apertures being such that a predetermined clearance is present between the periphery of each aperture and the surface of the cable when the latter is mounted through the greasing device. A weighted member travels through the chamber housing, while acting on the grease therein, to force the grease toward the cable passing through the housing and toward the apertures in the housing through which the cable passes.
