Abstract: A safety gate includes a first column, disposed on a first side of an elevator shaft, a second column, disposed on a second side of the elevator shaft, a first gate panel, and a second gate panel. The first gate panel is coupled to the first column via a first locking hinge. The second gate panel is coupled to the second column via a second locking hinge.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and arrangement for closing doors of an elevator that comprises at least an elevator shaft, a car running along guide rails, in the shaft and equipped with a car door, landing doors at each landing floor, a hoisting machinery, a necessary roping system and shaft equipment, and a control system for controlling the activities of the elevator. According to traffic situations controlled by the control system of the elevator the door open time of the car doors and landing doors is reduced by speeding up the closure of the doors, and at the same time the passengers are informed about the speed-up.

Abstract: A clutch couples a car door of an elevator car with a landing door of an elevator system, wherein the car door is movable with respect to the elevator car by a first actuator. The clutch includes at least one coupling element and a second actuator. The coupling element is movable with respect to the car door between a first position and a second position by the second actuator such that the coupling element engages with the landing door when the elevator car is within a landing zone and the coupling element is moved towards the second position, thereby establishing the coupling of the car door with the landing door. The second actuator is a linear motor.
Abstract: A safety gate (24) is slidable vertically from an upper position at an elevator cab landing (22) where it obstructs movement of the elevator cab (20) into a hoistway, and a lower position that permits cab travel between a car frame (29) and the landing. An actuator (42) normally urges the gate upwardly; the actuator is moved by a cam assembly (36) on an approaching elevator car frame so as to slide the gate (24) downward, out of the way of cab motion.

Abstract: Fire door for an elevator, especially for use in the landing doorways of an elevator shaft. The fire door is mounted abreast of an elevator landing door. The fire protection characteristics of the fire door are so chosen that the elevator door and the fire door together fulfil the requirements imposed on a fire door.
