  • Patent number: 6957596
Abstract: A braking actuator for an ergonomic support is connected thereto by a Bowden cable. The actuator has a housing with pin slots, friction surfaces and a mount for a disk axle. A disk has frictional surfaces, holes with pin load edges, a Bowden cable wire seat that holds the Bowden cable end and an axle that is supported by the mount in the housing. The friction surfaces of the disk and housing engage each other to brake the actuator and the ergonomic support. A lever having pins is disposed on the housing such that the pins extend through the pin slots to engage the holes in the disk. Turning the lever disengages the friction surfaces and rotates the disk, thereby moving the ergonomic support. Releasing the lever engages the frictional surfaces such that movement of the ergonomic support is braked at a selected position.

  • Publication number: 20040173418
Abstract: The invention relates to a brake disc for a disc brake, in particular in motor vehicles. Said brake disc comprises a friction ring (12) and a pot-shaped supporting part (14), the friction ring consisting of several ring segments (18), which adjoin one another in a circumferential direction. To provide a construction that can be commercially produced in a cost-effective manner and that is not prone to warping, the ring segments are provided with semi-circular recesses (18a), which encompass retaining bolts (16) that extend radially. The retaining bolts are fixed in circumferential sections of the supporting part and support the ring segments by means of a positive fit in a centrifugal direction. The retaining bolts are preferably configured in a tubular manner.

Abstract: In a composite disc for heavy-vehicle disc brakes, an annular braking band comprises at least two portions which are divided along at least one axial separation plane defining, on these portions, respective pairs of flat surfaces which can be arranged face to face in pairs. Radially-oriented, calibrated, semicylindrical cavities are formed in the flat coupling surfaces in order to define cylindrical seats for housing corresponding calibrated locating pins after the assembly of the portions of the band. This solution ensures precise axial alignment between the braking surfaces of the portions of the band.
