Abstract: A brake device for a drivable part, in particular for use for a vehicle flap, in particular in an automobile, includes a drivable load device (11) which can be radially brought into contact with a disc (90) of the drivable part, with a first holding position and a second release position. At least one brake element rests against the periphery (92) of the disc (90) in a frictional manner in the holding position and secures the disc (90) from rotating using a specifiable force. In the release position, the at least one brake element is arranged at a distance from the periphery of the disc (90) and allows a free run of the disc (90), and the load device (11) can be adjusted between the holding position and the release position, preferably by a motor (12).
Abstract: A device for braking a vehicle includes a first brake pad and a first back plate coupled to the first brake pad and comprising a first plurality of ridges provided on a first face of the first brake plate. The device and corresponding method provide an improved manner for cooling existing brake systems.
Abstract: There is provided a three-dimensional coordinate measurement apparatus capable of reducing shaking of a Y carriage and improving measurement accuracy. A groove is formed along a Y-axis direction in a right side part of a surface plate made of stone, and a Y guide is formed between the groove and a right side surface of the surface plate to support a Y carriage in a portal shape in a movable manner in the Y-axis direction. A support section is provided at a lower end of a right Y carriage on the right side of the Y carriage, and the support section is supported by the surface plate through air pads which are disposed by two air pads back and forth on the corresponding one of a top surface, a right side surface, and a bottom surface, of the surface plate, and a right side surface of the groove.
Abstract: A vehicle brake system comprising an actuator and a mechanical linkage, whereby a force produced by the weight of the vehicle is transmitted via the mechanical linkage to the actuator to provide a braking force.
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to hydraulic systems for actuating a vehicle braking system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a hydraulic system that uses the gravity-generated pressure in a load-bearing hydraulic cylinder to provide hydraulic pressure to a parking brake, emergency brakes, or service brake when properly modulated or other service. The present invention further relates to a system to reduce through dissipation or utilization the available gravity-generated hydraulic pressure so as to deploy a ground engaging drag-brake of a vehicle.
Abstract: A braking device for a vehicle utilizing a plurality of wheels that permit motion relative to a substantially horizontal surface. A support is provided for supporting at least one of the wheels. An orthogonal coordinate system is defined where x is the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and is parallel to the direction of vehicle motion; y is perpendicular to the x-axis, and in the horizontal plane, and z is the vertical axis. The support includes an axle disposed substantially parallel to the y-axis for supporting at least one wheel. A device is provided for rotatably engaging the axle with the wheel. The supports includes a rotary friction brake assembly and an attachment for pivotally attaching the stator of the brake assembly to the main structure. The attachment includes at least one link element disposed substantially in the y-z plane. The link element has a first end pivotally mounted to the main structure and a stator attaching portion pivotally mounted to the stator.
Abstract: A hand trolley for ascending and descending stairs is disclosed as including an elongated frame with a pair of outer rails and a pair of inner rails being spaced from the outer rails, a pair of wheels mounted on the frame at one end of the outer rails with a handle mounted on the frame at the other end of the outer rails, load supporting feet carried by the frame adjacent the wheels to define a primary load support, a carriage slidably mounted on the inner rails and defining a secondary load support, and brake shoes are operative to lock the carriage in a fixed position.
Abstract: A battery powered golf club cart having an elongated handle which controls both the power applied to its rear wheels and a brake associated with its front wheel. When the handle is depressed an electric motor which rotates the rear wheels is actuated and the front brake is released. When the handle is raised, the electric motor is disabled and the front wheel is drawn into contact with a braking member. A full set of golf clubs are vertically held in a flat rack forming a part of the cart framework and, after removal of the battery, the cart may be collapsed into a thin flat package, convenient for transporting and storage, without need for removal of the golf clubs.
