  • Patent number: 11172661
Abstract: A fishing reel having a movable inertia brake including braking magnets and a brake pad is provided. The fishing reel maximizes the advantages of a centrifugal brake, a magnet brake, and an inertia brake of the related art, such as abrasion prevention, the ability to prevent a decrease in the flying distance in casting when a spool is rotated at a low speed, and the ability to be used compatibly for a left-handed or right-handed handle. The fishing reel includes a spool plate including a spool cam, a brake pad, and a movable cam. The spool cam is fitted to a hub of a spool to rotate together with the spool, and has a pressing portion protruding to one side such that a lowest point and a highest point are connected on an incline in a radial direction.

  • Patent number: 8746420
Abstract: Cut-in-cut-out valves for hydraulic circuits. The hydraulic circuits include a hydraulic pump outputting a variable pressure controlled by a slaving line, an accumulation circuit, a return line to the reservoir, a cut in-cut-out valve. The hydraulic circuits also include a cut-in-cut-out valve having four orifices, a first orifice connected to the supply line, a second orifice connected to the slaving line, a third orifice connected to the return line leading to the reservoir, and a fourth orifice connected to the accumulation circuit. The cut-in-cut-out valve alternates between two positions as a function of the pressure in the accumulation circuit, a cut-in position in which the first, second and fourth orifices are connected to each other, and a cut-out position in which the first and fourth orifices are closed.

  • Publication number: 20100163351
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a disk brake having excellent responsiveness. A rotation preventing mechanism 34A prevents a rotation of a carrier 41 (one output member) in a direction causing a piston 12 to return. An internal gear 46 (the other output member) rotates by a predetermined degree to act on the rotation preventing mechanism 34A. When the motor 38 causes a sun gear (input member) to rotate such that the piston 12 moves in a return direction, a rotation of the internal gear 46 according to the rotation of the sun gear 44 releases rotation prevention of the rotation preventing mechanism 34A to the carrier 41. It is possible to release the parking brake without use of a worm gear which is used in the conventional arts for holding a thrust force (self-holding). As a result, it is possible to quickly release the parking brake, and therefore a driver can start to run without delay after parking brake release, whereby the responsiveness is improved.

Abstract: In an abnormality detecting device and method for a vehicular hydraulic pressure control circuit, which determines an abnormality that has occurred in a hydraulic pressure control circuit including an electromagnetic control valve which generates hydraulic pressure corresponding to a signal supplied from an electronic control unit, and a hydraulic switch which is turned ON when the hydraulic pressure generated by the electromagnetic control valve is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, a power supply of the electronic control unit is kept ON for a predetermined time after an ignition switch is turned from ON to OFF, and an abnormality that has occurred in the hydraulic pressure control circuit is detected within the predetermined time. Thus, it is possible to reliably detect an abnormality that has occurred in the vehicular hydraulic pressure control circuit.

  • Patent number: 5472264
Abstract: A brake unit for automotive vehicles with electric drive is configured in the shape of a multiple-circuit compound system consisting of hydraulic friction brakes of brake circuits (I, I', I", III, III', III") and of an electroregenerative brake system (circuit II, II', II"). In a vehicle with a driven and a non-driven axle, three brake circuits exist, one brake circuit of which (I, I', I") is comprised of a pedal-actuated hydraulic brake pressure master unit (2) and of friction brakes (3, 4) acting upon the non-driven wheels. The second brake circuit (II, II', II") which represents an electroregenerative brake system is directly or indirectly coupled to the brake pedal and acts upon the driven wheels. The third brake circuit (III, III', III") which is comprised of friction brakes (10, 11) also acts upon the driven wheels. The actuation of the wheel brakes (10, 11) is connected to the second and third brake circuits.

  • Patent number: 4627519
Abstract: A hydraulic disk brake apparatus especially useful for braking the rotation of a hoisting drum used to support a drill string in a well. The apparatus comprises a hydraulic fluid pump having an actuating lever, a pair of brake calipers having hydraulically actuated friction pads for engaging a brake disk coupled to the drum for rotation therewith, hydraulic fluid lines interconnecting the pump and the friction pads, and a mechanism for converting the braking reaction force caused by the torque applied to the calipers, when the pads engage the rotating disk, to an additional hydraulic force proportional to the amount of torque so applied to the calipers and applying this additional hydraulic force to the pads. This renders the braking action self-energized and provides a physical indication, i.e., a "feel", in the brake actuating lever reflecting the braking action actually take place on the drum.

  • Patent number: 3966027
Abstract: Electrically actuated safety apparatus for automatically stopping a rotating shaft at a predetermined rotational speed and adapted for use with rotary components such as those of elevator safety brakes. The apparatus comprises a plurality of rigid, circumferentially spaced stopping blocks which rotate with the shaft, a selectively actuable stopping member, and means for automatically moving the stopping member into engagement with one of the stopping blocks or lugs when the shaft reaches a predetermined, unsafe angular velocity. Shaft velocity is electrically monitored by a proximity switch which senses the speed of the rotating stop lugs and provides an output control signal when an unsafe condition is indicated. The stopping member is shifted to a stop position in the path of the rotating stop lugs by the action of a solenoid which is responsive to the control signal from the proximity switch.
