With Movable, Reversible Or Adjustable Heads Patents (Class 188/219.6)
  • Publication number: 20140023543
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a combined hydraulic motor and brake including a hydraulic motor having a hydraulic motor housing, a drive shaft assembly that is driven by the hydraulic motor, a stationary housing that is fixed relative to the hydraulic motor housing, and a rotatable housing that is rotatably driven by the drive shaft assembly. The combined hydraulic motor and brake also includes a brake for resisting relative rotation between the rotatable housing and the stationary housing, and a piston that is hydraulically actuated to release the brake. The piston is carried with the rotatable housing such that the piston, the rotatable housing and at least a portion of the drive shaft assembly are configured to rotate as a unit.

  • Publication number: 20130133991
Abstract: A brake system comprising a brake disc that rotates about a center axis, a brake mount, a brake caliper attached to the brake mount and including a brake pad, and an adjuster between the brake mount and the brake caliper. The adjuster can move the brake pad toward and/or away from the brake disc. In one embodiment, the brake caliper is attached to the brake mount by a post extending through an elongated opening in the brake caliper and nonparallel to the center axis. The adjuster can change a relative location of the post within the elongated opening. The adjuster can include an end that extends into the elongated opening and works against the post. The post can include a fastener threaded to the brake mount in a direction substantially perpendicular to the center axis, and the fastener can extend through an elongated opening in the brake caliper.

  • Patent number: 7527131
Abstract: An improved railway car truck is provide that includes two sideframes and a bolster. The bolster has laterally opposite ends, each end extending into and supported within a sideframe opening on a spring group. Each sideframe also has a pedestal opening at each end to receive a bearing adapter assembly. The railway car truck also includes two brake beam assemblies supported on the railway car truck bolster and sideframes. Each brake beam assembly includes an elongated main section, a support section, and a standoff section extending between the main section and support section. Two brake hangers comprised of a leg sections and a bottom section support an end of the brake beam assembly. The brake hangers can be reversed such that the brake head support sections can be spaced laterally to adapt to different rail gauges.

  • Patent number: 6732841
Abstract: A rail vehicle bogie brake has a brake beam (4, 5). Which at its end is provided with a brake block holder (8) having a brake block (9) for brake application against a tread of a wheel. The brake block holder has a transverse cylinder (19) for its pivotable connection with the brake beam. A mounting shaft (14) is attached in the end of the brake beam and is provided with a sleeve (16). The sleeve engages the mounting shaft and has an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the cylinder. A sleeve plate (17) is held against the sleeve, which is slightly longer than the cylinder, by means of screws (18) attached in the mounting shaft and prestressing the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6176354
Abstract: A truck mounted rail brake including at least a primary beam having a center section and a pair of end sections with guide end extensions. A brake head is removably mounted to the end sections by a pin. The pin is dimensioned to allow pivotal movement of the brake head about the pin. The pin is retained in the brake head by either a tab or another pin above and transverse to the first pin.
