  • Publication number: 20130192938
Abstract: This invention relates to a brake clip for use with a disc brake assembly. The brake clip includes a U-shaped section having a base leg with opposing first and second legs extending from the base leg. An abutment leg extends from at least one of the first and second legs of the U-shaped section. An extension leg extends from the abutment leg. The abutment leg is in contact with an anchor bracket of the disc brake assembly and the extension leg is in contact with a brake pad of the disc brake assembly when the brake clip is disposed therebetween.

Abstract: During combined rotatory-linear displacements of a shaft (2), either both motions, or one of them, is supposed to be decelerated without high energy expenditure in a simple manner. To this end, a brake comprising a brake holder (1) and at least two arc-shaped brake shoes (5) are proposed, which are each provided with a brake lining, are fastened to the brake holder (1), and can be pressed against the displaceable shaft (2). In this way, advantageously both the linear motion and the rotatory motion of the shaft (2) can be decelerated. In order to decelerate only the linear motion, an axially fixed brake sleeve, which is rotatorily mounted on the shaft, can be used. Furthermore, a linear ball bushing can be used to decelerate the rotatory motion without influencing the linear motion.

  • Patent number: 5328001
Abstract: A braking device for a two-wheeler, such as bicycle which comprises a pair of left and right arms pivotally attached to a frame of the two-wheeler, each having on its distal end portion a brake shoe, and a spring for energizing the arms to move toward brake releasing direction. This braking device is characterized in that one of the arms is more strongly energized by the spring than the other arm is, and that a stopper is provided to restrict the extent of the movement of the strongly energized arm toward the brake releasing direction, so that, when arms are being set back to the unactuated original state, this strongly energized arm is stopped of its movement by the stopper before the other arm finally returns to its original state.

  • Patent number: 4343382
Abstract: A friction pad assembly for rail vehicle brakes comprises a pad of friction material carried by a rigid backing plate, and the backing plate is detachably mounted on a shoe. A keeper is provided which includes a clamping member pivotally mounted on one end of the shoe. The clamping member has a clamp face which acts on one end of the backing plate to urge the backing plate into engagement with the shoe. The clamping member is urged into an operative clamping position by a wedge which is releasably driven between the clamping member and a relatively stationary surface in a block which is either integral with, or releasably attached to, the shoe.

  • Patent number: 4073418
Abstract: A small holder having a pair of jaws, has the general configuration of prior larger holders to be used for opening jars, but the inside surfaces of the jaws have thick cushions to conform to the wall of artist paint tubes. The cushions have thin supporting members to be attached to jaw members and are easily removable for changing to cushions with different thicknesses for holding tubes of different diameters.
