  • Patent number: 7674084
Abstract: A system is used with a boom pivoted on a frame about a horizontal pivot axis between raised and lowered positions by a first fluid ram joining the frame and the boom. A releasable locking mechanism locks the boom relative to the frame to prevent pivotal movement of the boom about its horizontal pivot axis. A second fluid ram is disposed between the frame and the boom, the second fluid ram compressed between the frame and the boom when the boom is adjacent the raised position, but prior to the boom achieving a latched position substantially coinciding with the raised position. A fluid circuit of the second fluid ram has two selectable pressure levels. The first level substantially prevents the boom from achieving the latched position, the second level permits the boom to achieve the latched position while providing fluid cushioning to dissipate impact forces between the boom and frame.

  • Patent number: 7374026
Abstract: A parking brake assembly for an air actuated disc brake includes an operating shaft for amplifying a force supplied by an air actuator and transmitting the force to brake pads. The operating shaft is pivotable about an axis between a rest position at which a braking force is not applied and an actuated position at which the braking force is applied. An abutment surface on the operating shaft is selectively engageable by a complementary latch of the assembly to retain the operating shaft in the actuated position and thereby apply the parking brake. The abutment surface has a helical configuration.

Abstract: The present invention discloses and claims an apparatus and method for operating a take-up mechanism. The system includes electric and manual actuating mechanisms engaged with a combiner mechanism to apply force to the take-up mechanism. In a first mode of operation, the combiner mechanism transmits rotation from the electric actuating mechanism, and in a second mode of operation, the combiner mechanism transmits rotation from the manual actuating mechanism. The method for operating the take-up mechanism uses a motor and a manual input shaft connected to a gear to operate the take-up mechanism in the first and second modes. The motor is engaged with the gear during at least the second mode of operation.

Abstract: An adjusting mechanism alters the heel height on a prosthetic foot, and works independently of any articulating ankle joint or foot style, without changing the original dynamic alignment of a prosthetic leg. In a two chamber hydraulic closed system—a fluid material is allowed to flow through the two chambers by use of pistons that push the fluid material equally from one chamber to another until the desired heel height is obtained. Once the correct position is obtained, the ports are closed by use of a push button stop, which closes the ports and stops all transfer of fluid between the ports holding the heel in position during use.

Abstract: A brake device for a chain saw is provided, wherein a driving shaft, which passes through a brake block, a torsion spring, a driving block and a chain wheel, is assembled with a driven gear, and two ends of the torsion spring are respectively fixed to the brake block and the driving block. The driven gear is loosely fit to the brake block, and the chain wheel is fixed to the driving shaft. When the driven gear is driven to rotate, the brake block, the driving shaft and the chain wheel are brought to rotate synchronously. When a force is applied to the brake block via a brake pin, the torsion spring will deform and separate from the driving block so that the driving block fails to transmit a driving force to the brake block, and thereby the braking effect is achieved.

  • Patent number: 7273136
Abstract: A hydraulic parking brake device is selectively switched between a braking state and a non-braking state. A braking force decreases as a pressure in the control oil chamber increases and increases as the pressure in the control oil chamber decreases. The device includes a discharged oil restrictor located in a discharge passage and an accumulator connected to the control oil chamber. The accumulator is capable of releasing hydraulic oil to the control oil chamber when the braking force is greater than that at the time when the parking brake device is switched from the non-braking state to the braking state and the braking force can further be increased during the braking state of the parking brake device. Thus, the parking brake device can gradually brake the vehicle from the running state.
