Three Shoes Patents (Class 188/323)
  • Patent number: 9919897
Abstract: A governor includes a housing, a pulley, a belt, a first flyweight, and second flyweight. The housing defines a housing cavity. The pulley is disposed at least partially within the housing cavity. The belt is in contact with the pulley. The belt is operable to rotate the pulley at a rotational speed. The first and second flyweights are pivotably connected to the pulley, and are biased towards one another. At least a portion of the first and second flyweights are operable to move away from the pulley when the rotational speed of the pulley is increasing toward a predetermined threshold rotational speed. The first and second flyweights are operable to contact the housing, and thereby transmit rotational energy to the housing, when the rotational speed of the pulley is equal to at least the predetermined threshold rotational speed.

  • Patent number: 9599174
Abstract: A brake device includes: an outer race having a cylindrical inner peripheral surface; at least two brake cams arranged inside the outer race in a circumferential direction, each brake cam having brake surfaces located at both ends in the circumferential direction of a side of the brake cam facing the outer race, each brake surface being contactable with the inner peripheral surface of the outer race; and an output-side rotary member arranged at radially inner sides of the respective brake cams, the output-side rotary member including contact portions contactable with surfaces of the brake cams facing the radially inner sides. Contact points at which the respective contact portions and the respective brake cams are contactable are on an axis-of-rotation side of a both-end reference plane (plane connecting outer ends of the respective brake surfaces located at the both ends of to corresponding brake cam), or on the both-end reference plane.

  • Patent number: 8397663
Abstract: A liquid body discharge device includes: a plurality of nozzles for discharging a liquid body to a liquid body discharged region of a substrate; and a plurality of heads including the plurality of nozzles. In the device, the liquid body is discharged to the liquid body discharged region of the substrate by moving one of the substrate and the plurality of heads. Further, an alignment direction of the plurality of nozzles provided to at least one of the plurality of heads is different from an alignment direction of the plurality of nozzles provided to a rest of the plurality of heads. Furthermore, the at least one of the heads moves in a moving path A and the rest of the plurality of heads moves in a moving path B that is a different moving path from the moving path A.

  • Patent number: 8312977
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for producing a frictional and/or form-fitting connection between first and second components which are linearly or rotationally movable relative to one another for transmitting forces and/or force moments that act between the first and second components in a linear and/or rotational manner. The first component surrounds the second component, at least sectionally, with at least one inner wall that faces the second component. The second component features at least one active-face element that can be transferred in a force-loaded manner from a first position, in which the active-face element is spaced apart from the inner wall, into a second position, in which the active-face element produces the frictional and/or form-fitting connection with the inner wall.

  • Patent number: 6913119
Abstract: A bicycle hub brake component is provided for braking a hub of a wheel mounted on a bicycle frame. The component comprises a brake drum adapted to rotate integrally with the hub, and a brake shoe. The brake drum has a brake face on an inner peripheral surface thereof, and the brake shoe has a contact surface that contacts the brake face of the brake drum to apply a braking force to the brake drum. A grease groove is formed in the brake face of the brake drum, wherein the grease groove is aligned between side edges of the contact surface of the brake shoe.

  • Patent number: 6290028
Abstract: A bike brake has two stages of braking, including a brake drum, a drum cap, plural brake bands and a stopping structure in the brake drum and the drum cap. The stopping structure has a separator, an interactive device, plural springs, plural stopping devices able to be pushed upward and outward by the springs. In case the stopping structure is rotated to alter its angle, the stopping devices are moved upward and outward by the springs to move the stopping devices outward push the brake bands to contact and rub against the inner wall of the brake drum to perform a first stage of baking. If the stopping structure continues to alter the angle larger and larger, the springs shrink and the stopping devices also move down to rest on the stop plates to perform a second stage of strong braking.

  • Patent number: 5524734
Abstract: A hub brake apparatus for use on an axle fixed to a frame of a bicycle. The apparatus includes a hub rotatable in a first direction about the axle when the bicycle moves forward, a brake drum rotatable with the hub, brake shoes arranged around the axle and radially inwardly of the brake drum to be movable between a first position for frictionally engaging the brake drum and a second position retracted from the brake drum, a ring spring for biasing the brake shoes toward the second position, and a cam mechanism disposed radially inwardly of the brake shoes for moving the brake shoes from the second position to the first position. The cam mechanism includes intermediate members having radially outward portions for contacting the brake shoes, and a cam disposed radially inwardly of the intermediate members and having peripheral portions for contacting the intermediate members. The peripheral portions of the cam define inclined surfaces opposed to the intermediate members.

  • Patent number: 5398923
Abstract: A power operated drive shaft and brake assembly are coaxially mounted for rotation inside a cable drum which is coupled to the drive shaft through gearing. The brake assembly has an adapter housing and one-way clutch for drivingly connecting the drive shaft and adapter housing during a "cable out" operation. A plurality of brake pads are mounted for movement relative to the brake adapter housing. The brake pads are angularly offset in a non-radial orientation to negate undesired brake drag caused by centrifugal forces while the pads are spring loaded to provide a predetermined braking force to hold a load in place after completion of a winching operation.
