  • Patent number: 8991108
Abstract: An automated system which anchors the moving unit(s) of a self propelled irrigation machine to the ground in order to prevent said unit(s) from tipping over under extreme weather conditions. The automatic anchor for a self-propelled irrigation system includes a tubular body, a driving mechanism, a mounting mechanism, a shaft, a screwpile, and a control unit. The screwpile is sleeved by the tubular body and mounted onto the main frame of the moving unit(s) via the mounting mechanism. The medium shaft is telescopically connected to the screwpile on one end and operatively coupled to the driving mechanism at the other end. The control unit is communicably coupled to the driving mechanism and thus controls the rotation, position, and state of the screwpile. In the extended state, the screwpile anchors the moving unit to the ground and in the withdrawn state the screwpile is retracted thus allowing for standard operations.

  • Patent number: 8297408
Abstract: A stabilizer for material handling equipment, includes a base mount for mounting to the material handling equipment, a main frame pivotally attached to the base mount, and a release lever and magnet housing pivotally mounted to the main frame. A biasing element holds the main frame in a disengaged position away from a metallic floor surface. The release lever can be addressed by a user to overcome the biasing element and rotate the magnet housing to an engaged position, so that magnets in the magnet housing engage the metallic floor surface, holding or anchoring the material handling equipment in place. In order to disengage the magnets from the metallic floor surface, the user forces the release lever in an opposite direction, prying the magnets from the floor surface, upon which the biasing element further rotates the main frame, removing the magnet housing from the proximity of the floor.

  • Patent number: 7243761
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for securely positioning a medical device that prevents movement of one end of the device by applying a single force. The apparatus allows a doctor to depress a pedal, which is connected to a pedal housing by way of a single shaft. Connected to the ends of the shaft are two separate linkage members. The first linkage member is attached to a ratcheting mechanism that steers the pedal into the locked position. The second linkage member is connected to a cam within the pedal housing that drives a spring-loaded plunger assembly. When the pedal is in the locked position the plunger assembly is in contact with the floor, thereby preventing movement of the device. To release the braking device, the doctor depresses the pedal slightly, which causes the ratcheting mechanism to allow the pedal, and therefore the plunger assembly, to return to their unlocked positions.
