  • Patent number: 8371662
Abstract: A wheel braking controller of a vehicle includes a brake lever operated by a rider, a master cylinder generating a hydraulic pressure according to an operation force of the brake lever, and a brake caliper braking a front wheel based on operation of the brake lever, a channel switching unit provided between the master cylinder and the brake caliper and switching channels of a brake fluid. A hydraulic pressure generator generates a hydraulic pressure based on operation of the brake lever and the driving state of the vehicle and controlling braking of the front wheel using the brake caliper by the hydraulic pressure. A braking controller including the channel switching unit and the hydraulic pressure generator is integrally provided on one body. The wheel braking controller so configured reduces the number of parts, and provides for easy mounting of the controller on the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 8348023
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a disk brake having excellent responsiveness. A rotation preventing mechanism 34A prevents a rotation of a carrier 41 (one output member) in a direction causing a piston 12 to return. An internal gear 46 (the other output member) rotates by a predetermined degree to act on the rotation preventing mechanism 34A. When the motor 38 causes a sun gear (input member) to rotate such that the piston 12 moves in a return direction, a rotation of the internal gear 46 according to the rotation of the sun gear 44 releases rotation prevention of the rotation preventing mechanism 34A to the carrier 41. It is possible to release the parking brake without use of a worm gear which is used in the conventional arts for holding a thrust force (self-holding). As a result, it is possible to quickly release the parking brake, and therefore a driver can start to run without delay after parking brake release, whereby the responsiveness is improved.

Abstract: The present invention provides a disk brake capable of ensuring excellent actuation efficiency. A piston holding mechanism 34 mounted in a disk brake 1a includes a planetary gear speed reduction mechanism 36 configured to power up a rotation of a motor 38, and a screw mechanism 52 and a ball and ramp mechanism 28 configured to convert a rotation of the planetary gear speed reduction mechanism 36 into a linear motion to advance a piston 12 in parallel. The planetary gear speed reduction mechanism 36 transmits a rotational output provided by powering up an input from the motor 38 to the screw mechanism 52 or the ball and ramp mechanism 28, and transmits a reactive force of the rotational output to the screw mechanism 52 or the ball and ramp mechanism 28. The screw mechanism 52 maintains a braked state when a supply of a rotational force from the motor 38 is stopped. As a result, it is possible to ensure excellent actuation efficiency.

Abstract: A braking system allows for smooth and accurate stopping of a camera dolly operating on tracks. A pair of caliper brake modules attached to the dolly frame are sized so that they fit over and at least partially surrounds the track. When the caliper brakes are activated, brake pads are moved towards the surrounded track squeezing it and providing a significant braking force. This permits the dolly to be smoothly brought to a stop with no possibility of the dolly wheel locking and skidding. The braking system can be temporarily attached to the dolly by a removable fastener system, or it can be permanently built into the dolly. A master hydraulic cylinder with a conveniently placed actuating lever is connected to the brake caliper modules by hydraulic lines so that slave hydraulic cylinders can apply the brakes in response to the actuating lever.
