Abstract: A compressed growing medium or mulch fiber opener comprising at least one set of adjacent rotating members, the rotating members having a surface and including at least one wire wound around at least a portion of the surface, wherein the wire includes a plurality of projections engaging compressed or partially opened growing medium or mulch fiber, and wherein a distance between the adjacent rotating members is sufficiently small to create at least one pinch point between the adjacent rotating members, the adjacent rotating members separating the fibers as the fibers pass through the at least one pinch point so that the density of the fiber is lowered by at least 50-95%.

Abstract: There is provided a data processing apparatus, a printing apparatus and a data processing method, that can reduce a processing load and a processing time in reading data even in a case where null data is added to print data for correcting displacement of a printing position caused by inclination of a print head. To achieve this, there is provided a data processing apparatus including a first writing unit, a second writing unit and a reading unit. The reading unit reads out data arrays corresponding to the print target image and does not read out data arrays corresponding to outside of the print target image in the first storage unit, from a plurality data arrays stored in the second storage unit that have been written in by the second written in unit.
Abstract: A printer has a sequential access EEPROM used with storage elements on black and color ink cartridges. Cartridge data such as data concerning inks in the cartridges are stored in the cartridges' storage elements. The addressing format for the cartridges' storage elements differs from that for the EEPROM. The printer's controller converts the storage format of addressing before writing information into the cartridges' storage elements. Data to be written into storage elements are temporarily placed in a RAM on the printer's carriage. The data are then written into storage elements of the black and color cartridges, say, during power-off operation. Signal lines and memory used when writing data into storage elements are identical to signal lines through which print data are transmitted to a print head on the carriage, and the memory where print data are stored. This reduces ink cartridge manufacturing cost and printer size.
Abstract: The breaking machine comprises a spiked drum mounted for rotation about a horizontal axis. A device feeds fibers to the drum. The feed device includes a horizontal roller of smaller diameter than that of the drum and is positioned laterally tangential to the drum. A device recycles insufficiently opened waste. A system forms the fibers into layers. A mechanism sharpens the spikes of the drum.
