Abstract: A low-profile catenary hanger, catenary wire system, and a method for supporting an electrical contact wire in relation to a messenger wire wherein a wire clamping assembly clamps about the contact wire, and a wire corral assembly is fixed to the clamping assembly. The corral assembly defines an adjustable reception corral through which the messenger wire is received without fastening so that the contact wire can rise without a consequent lifting of the messenger wire. The clamping assembly has a first clamping member with a keystone-shaped projection and a second clamping member with a keystone-shaped slot that can slidably receive the keystone-shaped projection to fix the clamping members together by operation of a setscrew. The clamping members together define a wire reception volume, and each clamping member has an engaging tooth whereby a contact wire with opposed longitudinal grooves can be clamped and retained by the clamping assembly.
Abstract: Provided herein is a snap-to-grid bracket assembly for use with a fire suppression device. In one approach, a support assembly includes a bracket bar extending transverse to a beam, and a bracket assembly coupled to the bracket bar. The bracket assembly may include a first plate oriented substantially perpendicular to the bracket bar, the first plate having a first end coupled to the bracket bar and a second end, opposite the first end, coupled to the beam. The bracket assembly further includes a seating frame extending from the second end of the first plate, the seating frame including first and second members disposed on opposite sides. The bracket assembly further includes a second plate rotatable relative to the first plate, the second plate having first and second ends disposed on a same side of the beam, and a fastener coupling together the first and second plates.
Abstract: For the coupling of two parallel contact wires of an elastic contact line system with a rigid contact line system, which has a power track (3) and a contact wire (4) affixed thereon, an elongated cantilever (5) is provided in a transition area, whose rigidity increases in the longitudinal direction from the elastic contact line system to the rigid contact line system. The two contact wires (1, 2) of the elastic contact line system are located along the cantilever parallel to the first contact wire (4), which is, in turn, clamped over the entire length of the cantilever. All three contact wires (1, 2, 4) are affixed on several multiple clamps (9) in the area of the cantilever (5), which clamps are located in a distributed manner along the cantilever. The multiple clamps (9) are located in recesses (12) of the cantilever.
Abstract: A device and method for suspending or holding down an overhead contact wire used for supplying power to electrical railway vehicles and trolley buses at the crest or trough of a vertical curve where the contact wire has an abrupt change in line angle. The device smoothes out the abrupt angle into a curve; parabolic in form and of a radius that is smooth for trouble-free operation of current collectors while maintaining elastic suspension. Contact wire uplift continues while passing through the device so that there is an avoidance of hard spots which cause uneven and accelerated contact wire wear. The device can further be used at the crest and/or trough of a vertical curve to maintain contact wire alignment where a horizontal curve with curve pull is encountered concurrently.

Abstract: A lambda type direct suspending overhead contact system for an electric railway including two or more pairs of anchor ears connected to a contact wire and outer and inner suspension wires held by a suspension clamp on a fixed beam at a ratio of a tensile of said outer suspension wire to a tensile of said inner suspension wire of 2.0 to 3.5:1.

Abstract: An electrical supply line for the supply of current to railway vehicles comprises at least one wire conductor forming a current supply line for a current pick-up device. A rigid body, which may be electrically conducting or otherwise and which is covered with an insulating covering, is constituted by rails and supports the wire conductor. The rails are located in an end-to-end relationship support the wire conductor at spaced intervals by means of attachment members.
