  • Patent number: 8607964
Abstract: A conveyor assembly has a supply source from which a plurality of rolling objects is delivered to a conveyor belt, wherein the conveyor assembly is also configured such that the horizontal velocity of the rolling objects delivered to the conveyor belt is substantially the same as the horizontal velocity of the conveyor belt. Such configuration advantageously reduces, or even eliminates undesired movement of the objects on the conveyor belt and thus significantly improves quantification of the objects on the conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 7258225
Abstract: An apparatus for diverting material in a controlled manner comprising a diverter plate attached to a mounting assembly. The diverter plate is shaped for receiving falling material and facilitating the flow of the material onto a conveyance means or into storage. The mounting assembly comprises a carrier spring assembly that permits the diverter plate to pivot about a shaft and thereby move from a default position to an unload position. The mounting assembly further comprises two adjustable locking mounts that hold the shaft in place and also allow the shaft to be adjustably rotated and thereafter fixed in place. A method for diverting material in a controlled manner comprises the steps of installing the apparatus at a transfer point and activating a first conveyance means that feeds material to the chute. A second conveyance means that receives the material after diversion by the apparatus can optionally be activated.

  • Patent number: 6276507
Abstract: Device at refuse chute comprising one shaft (1), provided with one or more inlet openings (2), which ends in a refuse chamber (4) or the like, and at least two subchannels (3a, 3b) arranged in the shaft for transfer of the waste, which are arranged to open into said refuse chamber. The subchannels (3a, 3b) are formed partly by at least one shaft separator (7) of a pliable material, which is formed to extend along an essential part of the shaft, and partly from pants of the shaft walls (14). The shaft separator (7) is arranged to divide the shaft longitudinally essentially diametrically and its one longitudinal side edge (8b) is aligned with the inlet opening(s) (2). The side edge (8b) is laterally, displaceably arranged by one channel selector (6) arranged in or close to the inlet opening (2).

  • Patent number: 5186299
Abstract: A discharge chute is arranged for pivotally mounting an abutment plate at a distal end of the chute to prevent further spillage and flow of concrete through the chute. The abutment plate may be hingedly mounted about a first end thereof or pivotally mounted about a plurality of spaced rods that are mounted to top edges of the chute.

  • Patent number: 4785840
Abstract: The passage of ore through a pass is controlled by means of a rotatably mounted arcuate door which is orientated so that a convex face of the door faces oncoming material flow. When the rate of material flow is so high that the door is forced open, fins on a concave face of the door react with the material flow and a force is generated which rotates the door to a blocking position at which the rate of material flow is substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 4688667
Abstract: The chute attachment is attached to a chute on cement truck at a receiving end so that cement might flow through the receiving end to an outlet end having a reduced size compared to the receiving end and into the desired place. A closure assembly is provided to close the chute attachment to thereby cut off the flow of cement, and minimize or avoid any spillage. The chute attachment has a frame which includes a circular assembly having large, middle and small circular members. The members are secured together at a common tangential point and a cover is secured to the frame.

  • Patent number: 4372730
Abstract: A load out chute system for controlling and directing the flow of relatively large quantities of bulk material, such as coal, is disclosed. The chute system includes an upper chute and a sliding gate valve positioned above the upper chute. A pair of hydraulic cylinders move the valve plates of the upper gate valve into partially overlapping relation for effective sealing of the flowpath. A lower chute pivots from a horizontal stored position to a position wherein the upper and lower flow paths align for discharging material. The lower chute includes a triangular skirt pivotally secured to an overhead structure and includes an arcuate bottom plate enabling the lower chute to cover the upper chute discharge opening when the lower chute is pivoted up. A corresponding curved retainer plate is operative to cover the lower chute inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 3974627
Abstract: A carton is held in position at a filling station in order to permit insertion of objects thereinto by pivotable flap means which engage the sides of the cartons to maintain the cartons in an open position during filling thereof. The flap means are mounted upon a vertically movable mounting frame which is lowered to insert the flap means into the cartons whereupon engagement by the flap means of stop members causes the flap means to pivot about horizontally extending axles provided on the mounting frame to bring the flap means into engagement against the inside of the carton walls.
