Patent number: 5975467Abstract: An inflatable evacuation slide for an aircraft comprising upper and lower sliding regions interconnected by an intermediate sliding region and including a flexible sliding support surface. An inflatable support structure extends outwardly from the upper sliding region and formed by at least first and second support sections spaced from each other and extending in planes transverse to a plane of the sliding support surface. Each support section comprises an engaging member interposed between a connecting member and a supporting member. The connecting and supporting members are connected to the upper sliding region, so that the engaging members are substantially parallel to each other and spaced from the upper sliding region.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Air Cruisers CompanyInventors: John W. Patent number: 5472768Abstract: The present invention relates to a tubular section which may be constructed from a sheet having a pair of opposed edges. The opposed edges are releasably connectable such that the section may be stored in a relatively flat configuration. The screw fasteners used to connect the edges together may be restrained from rotation using for example a stringer element appropriately stabilised relative to the fasteners.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1993Date of Patent: December 5, 1995Inventor: Andrew P. Anson

Patent number: 5255769Abstract: A discharge chute for emptying the debris from trash receptacles, especially receptacles of a cylindrical shape and which have a normally closed clean-out opening in the sidewall near the bottom of the receptacle. The chute has a downwardly extending lip that engages the front edge of the opening in the trash receptacle and outwardly extending tabs that clip behind the sidewall of the receptacle adjacent the opening so as to secure the chute in place during use.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1992Date of Patent: October 26, 1993Inventor: Michael G. Echelberger

Patent number: 5244069Abstract: Apparatus for protecting the chute of a mixer truck from impact and wear. The apparatus includes a liner having a liner wall positionable over the chute. The liner is attached only at its upper end to the chute with the remainder of the liner being unattached and depending from the liner wall upper end. The liner is of unitary, molded plastic construction.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1992Date of Patent: September 14, 1993Inventor: James H. Cosgrove

Patent number: 5220986Abstract: An improved discharge chute for a material handling system. The chute includes a generally elongated rectangularly shaped support backing. A sheet of low friction, wear resistant polymeric material is bonded to the upper surface of the support backing. In the preferred embodiment, the polymeric material is high density, textured polyethylene between about 15 and 50 mils in thickness. A second sheet of polymeric material is bonded to the lower surface of the support backing to prevent warping of the backing. A support frame is attached to the support backing for positioning one end of the chute adjacent to the discharge portion of the material handling system and the other end of the chute adjacent to a receiving station. Finally, a pair of dividers attached to the opposite sides of the support backing for confining the goods being discharged by the material handling system.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1992Date of Patent: June 22, 1993Assignee: Mantissa CorporationInventor: LeRoy A. Winkler, III

Patent number: 5186299Abstract: A discharge chute is arranged for pivotally mounting an abutment plate at a distal end of the chute to prevent further spillage and flow of concrete through the chute. The abutment plate may be hingedly mounted about a first end thereof or pivotally mounted about a plurality of spaced rods that are mounted to top edges of the chute.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1992Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Inventor: Brian L. Stimson

Patent number: 5184706Abstract: An improved discharge chute assembly for use with a concrete mixing truck includes improved chute components which are fabricated from a fiberglass reinforced polyurethane structural frame possessing necessary flexural and impact properties and a polyurethane liner possessing necessary wear resistance and hardness. The polymeric materials tends to remain smooth during wear and permit chutes according to the invention to be manufactured much lighter than those heretofore known.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1992Date of Patent: February 9, 1993Assignee: McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Ronald E. Christenson

Patent number: 5056641Abstract: An improved discharge chute assembly for use with a concrete mixing truck includes improved chute components which are fabricated from a high strength, lightweight polymeric material. The polymeric material tends to remain smooth during wear, and permits chutes according to the invention to be manufactured much lighter than those heretofore known. According to a second aspect of the invention, an improved connecting joint structure is provided which is simple to connect and disconnect, and will not become jammed with wet concrete. Both the chute components and joint structure are constructed with smooth outer surfaces to avoid catching on clothing or other fabric. The combination of lightweight chute components and the improved joint structure yields a discharge chute assembly which is safer and more efficient to deploy at a construction site.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1990Date of Patent: October 15, 1991Assignee: McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: William L. Loefke, Ronald E. Christenson, Garwin B. McNeilus

Patent number: 5035313Abstract: A dispensing chute comprised of a plurality of slidable telescopically fitted sections for conveying materials from the discharge end of a drum of a mixer truck to a point remote from the vehicle. The chute sections are structured of interlocking open metal frames having replaceable plastic liners removably affixed in the interior of each frame. Dovetail shaped guide and support tracks connecting one chute section to another are also individually removable from the chute section. One end of each chute section has removable flexible wipers which scrape clean the surface of the next chute during the retraction mode. Retraction and extension of the chute sections relative to each other is power operated through the use of attached hydraulic rams controllable through switching to actuate electric solenoid valves.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1990Date of Patent: July 30, 1991Inventor: Felesta Smith

Patent number: 5015122Abstract: A system for channeling drainage fluid from a point located upstream to a point downstream comprises a series of conduit elements linked together and partially fitted in one another. This system is remarkable in that the series of conduit elements is assembled so that the linked conduit elements can articulate with one another and each conduit element is suspended from the previous conduit element of the series with upper end of the first conduit element being suspended from a point of anchorage located upstream. The conduit elements articulate with one another in pairs by means of a disconnectable hook arrangement, such as performed protuberances, which acts as a hinge. The above system for channeling running water prevents the degradation of slopes served by such systems.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1989Date of Patent: May 14, 1991Inventor: Denis Combes
