Pivotable Patents (Class 194/308)
  • Patent number: 7661520
Abstract: The invention provides a method of determining completion of coin insertion capable of easily and reliably determining whether or not a number of coins required for purchasing an article has been inserted. A coin holding portion (105) is constructed such that coins are retained in row in the coin holding portion (105) being electrically connected to each other in series. Further, a first electrode (121) that comes into contact with the coin located at one end side of the row is provided in the coin holding portion (105); and a second electrode (123) that comes into contact with the coin located at the other end side of the row is provided in the coin holding portion (105). The coin holding portion (105) is constructed to detect an electric current between the first electrode (121) and the second electrode (123) to determine whether or not the required number of coins has been inserted.

  • Patent number: 5402873
Abstract: Coin selector, which defines a route or path for the coins, along which are fitted optical and/or electromagnetic sensors, as well as means for detecting the electrically insulating or conducting nature of the rim of the coins introduced. These means consist of two electrical contacts, one fixed (2) and the other mobile (1), between which pass the coins (3) introduced, these contacts forming part of a detection circuit (4).

  • Patent number: 5386901
Abstract: Coin selector, which defines a route or path for the coins, along which are fitted optical and electromagnetic sensors and at least one rocker arm located towards the entrance to that route or path which is responsible for directing the coins towards the correct path. The selector also includes a mobile permanent magnet and a fixed magnetic relay close to that magnet, the magnet being fitted to the rocker arm and located towards the entrance to the path for the coins. The displacement of the rocker arm pulls the magnet, varying the action of the magnet's magnetic field on the relay. The relay is connected to a power supply circuit for the sensor, which is activated when a coin is introduced.
