And Scavenger Mechanism Patents (Class 194/321)
  • Patent number: 8381893
Abstract: The invention proposes an insertion device for coins for transferring said coins to a coin tester or to a coin-operated machine, having an insertion slot and having a coin outlet, between which is arranged a rotatable drum having a receiving region for receiving a coin, wherein in a receiving position, the receiving region is accessible to a coin which can be inserted through the insertion slot, and the insertion slot can be closed off by means of rotation of the drum. The drum having the receiving region is covered by a flap which can be opened in a controlled fashion in an ejection position for ejecting foreign material.

  • Patent number: 6644456
Abstract: An electronic coin checker is proposed which has a coin entry channel, in the region of which a sensor arrangement is disposed, and has a flap-shaped coin switch and a control device. In dependence on the signals of the sensor arrangement, the control device controls the coin switch to accept a coin running through the coin entry channel into an acceptance shaft, or into a return channel to return the coin. The flap-shaped coin switch has a sloping extension inclined towards the runway of the return channel, on which the coin slides away in the return position of the switch, alters its inclination and falls onto the runway of the return channel. The boundary wall, lying opposite the coin switch, of the return channel is configured inclined in the running direction, and thus a further alteration in inclination takes place.

  • Patent number: 6378685
Abstract: A coin-receiving device including a coins-lump insertion part and a coin-sending device. A foreign objects separator catches foreign objects among inserted things and removes the foreign objects from coin-passage. The inserted items received from the coins-lump insertion part reach the coin-sending device through the foreign objects separator. Any foreign objects other than coins among the inserted items are caught by the separator before being processed by the coin-sending device and are removed from the coin-passage, thus being prevented from going together with following coins to the coin-sending device, and reducing clogging on passages of the coin-sending device and breakage of specific mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 6098778
Abstract: A coin collecting mechanism with top coin slot and coin return function is provided. The coin collecting mechanism has a main support onto which both a coin return mechanism and a coin comparison mechanism are mounted. The coin comparison mechanism is in a vertical position but inclined backward by about 15 degrees. The coin return mechanism includes a hood defining a downward opened chamber for the coin comparison mechanism to move up and down therein. The hood is provided at a lower front end with a horizontal rail inclined backward by about 15 degrees for catching an inserted coin vertically falling from the coin slot and guiding the coin into the coin comparison mechanism. The hood also has a spring-loaded member mounted thereto for pushing a jammed coin out of the inclined rail. A locating clamp is adjustably mounted on the hood for easily adjusting a size of the coin slot.

  • Patent number: 5715925
Abstract: A coin sorting device of an automatic vending machine which can easily change a price without changing the automatic vending machine or the coin sorting device, is disclosed. In the coin sorting device, each of a pair of coin sorting levers prevents rotation of the turn plate due to engagement of the engaging portion with the coin sorting pawl portion when a put-in coin is smaller than a normal coin. On the other hand, when a put-in coin is the normal coin, the engaging portion is arranged to ride over the coin sorting pawl portion due to a sliding contact of the normal coin following rotation of the turn plate. One of the pair of coin sorting levers is provided with a coupling pin which can couple or coupling-release the coin sorting levers.

  • Patent number: 4706795
Abstract: A coin discriminator for discriminating good coins from bad coins among a plurality of different types of coins and sorting the coins by denomination has a cradle for selecting the coins in accordance with their diameter, and a swing lever which is urged in a direction toward the space between the two ends of the cradle. The swing lever biases a small coin so as to cause it to pass the space between the two ends of the cradle. A large coin urges the swing lever and is removed from the cradle.
