  • Patent number: 10801169
Abstract: Right and left safety module embodiments are designed to be installed in insets located midway along right and left sides of flatbed trucks. The modules provide “man baskets” that have lower and upper platforms. While the truck is being driven alongside a roadway work zone, a workperson standing on the module's lower platform either 1) moves traffic delineators one at a time from the upper platform, and then places the delineators at spaced locations alongside the roadway work zone, or 2) removes traffic delineators one at a time from spaced locations alongside the roadway work zone, and then places the delineators onto the upper platform. Vertically movable safety rails and pivotal safety gates of the modules prevent falls from the modules of workpersons standing on the lower platform.

  • Patent number: 10556545
Abstract: A rack structure is provided for supporting an elongate, generally horizontally extending nested stack of substantially identically configured barrel-like traffic delineators at a location atop a cab of a truck, with the nested stack of traffic delineators being laid on one of its sides so the stack extends generally forwardly-rearwardly, with a relatively smaller front end region of the nested stack situated forwardly of a relatively larger rear end region of the nested stack. The rack structure has a forwardly-rearwardly-movable component configured to perimetrically surround and support a portion of the relatively smaller front end region of the stack, and a forwardly-rearwardly extending fixed component that underlies and supports a portion of the relatively larger rear end region of the stack.

  • Patent number: 9925906
Abstract: A self-unloading pipe trailer carries a rack of pipe and automatically unloads segments as it moves along a pipeline location. A single operator can maneuver the trailer and operate the unload controls. In unload mode, the operator drives along the pipeline and the trailer unloads the segments automatically. The trailer employs a power pipe rolling assembly that engages with weight-bearing tires in order to translate the distance traveled across the ground to directly power a pipe unloading system such that each foot of ground travel equates to a foot of pipe unloading. If the operator needs to change speed and/or stop, it can be done without modifying the unload mode as the dispensing process automatically responds to the change in speed. There is no complex externally powered unloading system to break-down, lose timing, or otherwise complicate matters. Pipe is simply unloaded automatically as the trailer moves down the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 9854725
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved mechanism for centering implements in agricultural fields by providing a laser guidance system with a laser attached to the implement. The laser may operate to emit a beam in order to produce a spot or beam onto the field which an equipment operator may visually target to improve steering of the implement. The laser may be centered on the implement, and the beam produced by the laser may be directed forward within a steering range of the implement and within a field of view of the equipment operator.

  • Publication number: 20110192702
Abstract: A mobile conveyor machine is provided for a cascading conveyor system in the form of a series of mobile conveyor machines pivotably connected together in the form of a conveyor train. The conveyor machine comprises an elongate supporting frame arranged substantially horizontally and having longitudinal side frame members and first and second ends. The supporting frame extends along a central longitudinal axis of the conveyor machine. A conveyor belt system is mounted on the supporting frame and arranged to convey materials from the first end to the second end. A pair of transversely aligned propelling devices are each separately connected to the supporting frame for pivotable movement about a generally vertical pivot axis. This pair is located near but spaced from the first end and has a common axis of rotation when the propelling devices are positioned to move the conveyor machine in a straightforward direction. The machine also comprises a power mechanism for steering the pair of propelling devices.

  • Patent number: 5108250
Abstract: A system and method for controlling an automatic loading/unloading material mover. The mover includes a wheeled vehicle having a tiltable bed with a live floor and a non-driven wheel and is used to load and unload heavy objects, such as cotton modules. Pulse-generating magnetic sensors are used to measure the displacement of both the non-driven wheel, and hence the vehicle, and the live floor. The displacement of the live floor is controlled by the synchronization system and method which includes a digital processor to match the displacement of the vehicle so that heavy modules being loaded or unloaded are not torn apart.

  • Patent number: 4903778
Abstract: A sod harvester in which sod is cut, conveyed upwardly, and then travels downwardly over a floppy conveyor and falls into a roll forming enclosure formed by a bottom conveyor and a vertical conveyor. The floppy conveyor swings downwardly at the start of roll forming, to reduce the free fall of the sod, and swings upwardly as the roll grows. When the roll is formed, the bottom conveyor is unlatched and tilts downwardly to discharge the roll, at the same time pulling into cocked position a core tube injector arm. When the roll discharges, the bottom conveyor snaps upwardly, releasing the core tube injector arm which injects a fresh core tube into the roll forming enclosure. The sod is rolled with its grass side outwardly to facilitate laying and to protect the grass roots. A tray on a cart at the end of the harvester receives the discharge roll and can convey it to either side of the cart.

  • Patent number: 4899829
Abstract: Apparatus for making a substrate for forest cultivation, which apparatus is designed to be drawn as a trailer behind a tractor or some comparable vehicle and most suitably has one wheel on each side of the trailer, the tracks of the wheels being essentially the same as those of the drawing vehicle and the trailer being also provided with a container for earth or comparable material, at the bottom of which container there is an opening through which the earth flows down on a conveyor unit arranged under the container. In present-day forest cultivation the tree plants are usually planted in unprepared soil. As a result, other vegetation deprives the trees of some of their vegetative power.

  • Patent number: 4174578
Abstract: A tracked snowplow particularly suited for use in very deep snow. A frame is carried on a tracked mover. The frame supports a triangular belt which is made up of a number of chains, stretched about rolls, and a large number of shovels which extend perpendicular to the chains. The shovels engage the links of the tracked mover as the shovels move along their lower run. The upper run of the shovels is angled rearwardly, and so as the snow is carried by the upper run, the weight of the snow helps drive the shovels, and the shovels, engaging the tracked mover, help drive it. From the upper run the snow is deposited into two secondary carrying belts which convey it to the sides of the snowplow for throwing out.

  • Patent number: 4081094
Abstract: A conveyor-trailer for transporting cotton, which is mounted on a long-bed truck trailer. The conveyor-trailer is pivotally mounted on the bed of the truck trailer and hydraulic means moves the conveyor-trailer between a horizontal position and a position inclined upwardly toward the forward end of the truck trailer. Mounted on the conveyor-trailer is a servo mechanism which engages automatically a wheel on the truck trailer when the conveyor-trailer is in the inclined position and disengages automatically the wheel on the truck trailer when the conveyor is in the horizontal position. An hydraulic drive motor is connected to the conveyor of the conveyor-trailer to impart movement thereto under the control of the servo mechanism. When the servo mechanism is spaced from the wheel of the truck trailer, the conveyor of the conveyor-trailer is idle.
