  • Patent number: 6413481
Abstract: A sterilization tunnel for pharmaceutical containers such as vials has an inlet zone, a sterilization zone, and a cooling zone. A conveyor belt for the vials is disposed inside the sterilization tunnel. An emptying device that can be raised and lowered is disposed in the vicinity of the cooling zone. In order to empty the sterilization tunnel, the frame-shaped emptying device is lowered onto the conveyor belt and then pushes an emptying slider, which is being moved through the sterilization tunnel together with the last vials disposed on the conveyor belt, out from the sterilization tunnel. The emptying device permits a particularly simple operation of the sterilization tunnel.

  • Patent number: 6382400
Abstract: A transport and position system, particularly for the workpiece transfer, has a lever mechanism between its driving motors and its output to carry out a step-up. The lever mechanism takes over the guiding as well as the driving of the carrier device which therefore forms the output of the lever mechanism. As a result of the step-up, high accelerations and decelerations can be achieved at the carrier device. Thereby, the mass inertia of linear guides for the bearing of levers and mass inertias of drives moved along play a substantially reduced role. While a high positioning precision can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6374995
Abstract: A positioning system (31, 32, 33, 34 35, 36), particularly for transporting and positioning workpieces, has a drive and force generating transmission device (47) by means of which a carrier device (41) can be moved and positioned. At least one force generating device (70) is connected to the drive and force transmission device (47), which force generating device (70) feeds into the drive and transmission system of the drive and force transmission device (47), an additional force used for compensating the weight of the drive and force transmission device and its moved parts and possibly of a workpiece, to the extent that this force manifests itself at the drives of the drive and force transmission device (47).

  • Patent number: 6374994
Abstract: A transfer system, particularly for the transfer of workpieces in multi-station presses (1), consists of several transfer modules (14 to 19), which each have a workpiece holding device (28) which is carried by at least one lever mechanism (23). Each lever mechanism transmits the adjusting movement of two mutually independent drives (39, 44) to the workpiece holding device (28). One of the drives (39, 44) is disposed in a stationary manner, and the other is moved by the drive disposed in a stationary manner. This basic principle opens up many design possibilities.

  • Patent number: 6349571
Abstract: A pushout mechanism is disclosed for transferring bottles from a deadplate of an I.S. machine section to a conveyor. The pushout mechanism has a finger assembly including inner and outer pockets and is pivotally displaced, when the finger assembly is at an advanced position, from the deadplate and to a conveyor. Each of the inner and outer pockets includes an air directing structure such as a jet for directing air to hold a bottle located within the pocket against the pocket. A first pressurized air supply which includes a first control valve supplies pressurized air to the air directing structure of the inner pocket and a second pressurized air supply means including a second control valve for supplies pressurized air to the air directing structure of the outer pocket.

  • Patent number: 6234475
Abstract: Transporting apparatus for individual sheets, having two transporting paths which are aligned at an angle to one another. A diverter arrangement with a first diverter body, which can be adjusted in a translatory manner, and a second diverter body, which can be pivoted about its longitudinal axis synchronously with said first diverter body, serves for optionally guiding a single sheet along the first transporting path, deflecting the sheet into the second transporting path or deflecting it back from there into the first transporting path. For this purpose, a first diverter surface and a third diverter surface, which is aligned at an acute angle to the first diverter surface, are formed on the first diverter body. The second diverter body bears a second diverter surface.

  • Patent number: 6189680
Abstract: The rotary conveyor of the present invention has a simple structure and is capable of preventing an electric cable and an air tube from twisting and cutting. In the rotary conveyor, a rotating section can rotate in the both directions. A number N (an integer three or more) of movable stations are provided to the rotating section with regular angular separations (an angle &thgr;1). The movable stations respectively machine work pieces. The number N of fixed stations are provided on the base section and located at positions corresponding on the movable stations. The fixed stations respectively machine the work pieces with the movable stations. The rotating section is intermittently turned the angle &thgr;1 a prescribed number (N−1) of times, in one direction, from an initial position of the rotating section, then the rotating section is continuously turned, in the other direction, until reaching the initial position.
