Abstract: Reversable scraper blades engaging against one side of a belt run respond through a resilient connection to the movements of a roller engaging against another side of the belt run.
Abstract: A conveyor belt cleaning assembly (10) including at least one generally transversely extending cleaning member (20), engaging, in an operative position, a conveyor belt (14) surface to be cleaned. The cleaning member (20) is characterized in that over at least a short portion of its length, a lead-in surface is provided on its leading end (20A), such that it makes an acute angle with the belt. The belt cleaning member (20) is constructed of an abrasion resistant material and is flexible. In one embodiment, the flexible belt cleaning device (20) is resiliently biased in frictional engagement with the curved surface of the conveyor belt by a tension spring (30). In other embodiments, yieldable tension is developed by a counterweight (34) and alternatively, by a compression spring assembly (48).
Abstract: A scraper device for a belt conveyor has an elongate scraper blade for extending the width of the belt conveyor and carried by a support unit mounted on a supporting framework. The support unit includes an elongate bar engaged at each end in a ring rotatably supported in a slide block resiliently slidable in a U-bracket of the supporting framework. An axial shear pin traverses the slide block and ring to resist relative rotation therebetween until excessive torque is applied to the blade.

Abstract: A screw conveyor apparatus suitable for conveying and processing flowable materials such as particulate materials and slurries, for example, which incorporates cleaning or scraping elements for dislodging the accumulation of materials from the surfaces of the helical flight. The apparatus comprises an elongated housing defining a conveying chamber in which a helical flight is rotatably supported formed with a central axially extending bore through at least a portion of the length thereof and a shaft slidably disposed in the bore and reciprocable and rotatable relative to the helical flight. A series of scraper elements are mounted on the shaft adjacent to the leading and trailing surfaces of the helical flight and a drive mechanism is provided for rotating the helical flight and the shaft.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning conveyor belts by a transverse cable. An upwards pressure is exerted on the belt by the cable to raise the edges of the belt, and this causes the cable to vibrate in the direction of travel of the belt causing the cable to clean the belt.
Abstract: A scraper bar for use with conveyor belting and the like to clean such belting of material adhering to its surface. The scraper bar consists of a layer of hard abrasion-resistant pellets embedded in an elastomer to form an elastomer/pellet matrix. An additional layer of elastomer is cast to the matrixed layer to provide a surface for attaching the scraper to its support when in service. Embedded in the layer of unmatrixed elastomer is an insert of particle board, chipboard, plywood or fibreglass reinforced plastic sheeting. The insert prevents bowing of the scraper bar due to differential shrinkage between the layer of matrixed elastomer and pellets and the supporting layer of elastomer.

Abstract: A conveyor belt scraper assembly having a scraper core attached to a shaft which holds the scraper core in adjustable spatial relationship with the conveyor belt, the scraper core having slide-in mounting channels which hold resilient scraper blades in contact with the conveyor belt to remove foreign matter therefrom and to allow expeditious replacement of worn-out blades, the scraper core also being rotationally and linearly adjustable to permit compensation for a substantial range of wear on the blade edge surface.
Abstract: A scraper blade is provided for a conveyor belt for removing material such as hot asphalt mix which would otherwise tend to stick to the conveyor belt surface. A scraper blade assembly is mounted to a swinging arm which is pivoted to the conveyor frame and positioned near the underside of the discharge end of the conveyor. A blade is mounted transversely to the conveyor belt for scraping material from its surface, and heating elements are provided for heating the blade to prevent material build-up on the scraper. A control system including sensors, a control valve and a control cylinder is provided for pivoting the blade away from the conveyor to allow passage of the conveyor splice without damaging it, or in response to a conveyor belt stoppage.
Abstract: A document handling apparatus by which documents are engaged and conveyed is disclosed. The apparatus includes a document-transport belt for engaging a document on a document-receiving surface and means for driving the belt to convey a said document across the surface. A document hitch supports the document intermediate document engaging zones thereof spaced apart in the direction of travel of the belt. The hitch comprises a base portion defining a surface supporting the belt and sidewalls for guiding the belt, the base portion having a transversely extending channel in the belt-support surface defining at least one cleaning edge for cleaning the surface of the belt passing thereover.
Abstract: A scraper assembly is pivotally supported for biased engagement with the outer surface of a moving conveyor belt to clean the surface of the belt. The scraper assembly includes a plurality of scraper elements spaced along the length of an elongate carrier which extends transversely of the side edges of the belt. Each scraper element is removably mounted on the carrier and at an inclined angle with respect to the direction of movement of the conveyor belt to displace material clinging to the surface of the belt outwardly towards the edges of the conveyor belt. The scraper element consists of a resilient body with a fixedly vulcanized assembly profile with an outwardly open undercut groove for a bolt. The undercut groove extends at an inclined angle towards the scraping edges of the scraper element. The elongate carriers of the carrier device have a curved carrying surface facing the scraper elements.
Abstract: An improved conveyor belt cleaner blade has been devised which consists of a number of rows having teeth mounted upon a base. The teeth are arranged such that the teeth having one row oppose the space between the teeth of an adjacent row. A plurality of holes are dispersed between the rows of teeth. Such holes aiding in the disposal of scraped material.
Abstract: An assembly of cleaners for a conveyor belt comprising a tubular support having first and second series of mounting openings which are arranged in a staggered or offset relationship to permit cleaners having spring arms of equal length to be mounted or positioned on the support without any interference between adjacent cleaners. With such a construction, the scraper blades provided at the ends of the scraper arms overlap but do not hit each other as normally occurs when the mounting openings in the support are longitudinally aligned rather than staggered.
