Abstract: Systems and methods for transitioning a portable weather canopy between at least two states are described, where a first state provides flexible shaft portions that can be worn on a user's body or wrapped about an object and a second state reversibly couples the flexible shaft portions to provide a rigid shaft to support the canopy. In an aspect, a collapsible, portable weather canopy includes, but is not limited to, a foldable canopy; and a collapsible shaft coupled to the foldable canopy.

Abstract: A composite geometry structure for the absorption and dissipation of the energy generated by an impact includes a plurality of hollow cells, adjacent and stably connected to each other. On each cell there are identified one or more arc elements which develop starting from two juxtaposed areas of the same perimeter edge of the cell, such arc elements being configured to be elastically deformed.

Abstract: A nightcap configured for securing about a wearer's head and method of wearing the same is disclosed. The nightcap includes a cap portion that is dimensioned to cover a wearer's head. An aft end of the cap portion encircles a wearer's head. A forward end of the cap portion has a notch proximal to a top end of the cap portion by a confluence of an upper edge of a pair of elongate straps distending from the cap portion. Side loops are provided at the lateral sides of the cap portion and a rear loop is provided at an aft end of the cap portion. The cap is worn and secured about the wearer's head by encircling the wearer's head with the elongate straps, while routing terminal ends of the elongate straps through the side loops, rear loop, and securing the straps in a knot on the wearer's forehead.

Abstract: A hat-umbrella comprises a circular frame with a shade attached to a plurality of extendable and retractable radial supports that form an umbrella around the circular frame. When expanded, the radial supports extend away from the circular frame, thus a large shade is formed. When retracted, the radial supports collapses around the circular frame and the shade is folded.

Abstract: A hat and a hat brim length adjusting method are provided to solve the problem that the hat brim length of the existing sunscreen hats cannot be adjusted in real time. The present hat includes a hat body and a hat brim which is retractable in length; the hat further includes a power supply, an adjustment unit and a detection unit; wherein the detection unit is used for detecting relations between a position of the sun and a position of a wearer's face in real time; and the adjustment unit is used for adjusting a length of the hat brim according to the detection result. The hat brim length of the present hat is adjustable, so that the hat not only can block the sun for the wearer but also can provide a good sight angle for the wearer.

Abstract: The UV ray-blocking headwear is adapted to be an apparel item. The UV ray-blocking headwear is adapted to be worn on the head. The UV ray-blocking headwear is a UV blocking sunshield that is attaches to the head such that UV radiation is prevented from reaching the head, ears, or nape of the neck. The UV ray-blocking headwear is attached to a headband that is worn on the head such that a sunshield is raised above the head thereby creating a space for air flow to provide for the comfort of the user. The UV ray-blocking headwear comprises a headband, a plurality of struts and a sunshield.

Abstract: A skull cap includes one or more layers of material. The outermost surfaces of the skull cap includes a concave surface and a convex surface. The skull cap is delimited by a peripheral edge at which the concave and convex surfaces meet. The layer of the one or more layers which includes the concave surface is at least partially made of velvet.

Abstract: A seasonal insulative cover for an outdoor faucet includes at least two layers formed from a weatherproof material. A first and a second of the at least two layers are further connected to define a space there between. The first and second layers include a plurality of air chambers. A valve is included on the cover for inserting air between the at least two layers. Air inflated into the insulative cover at the valve urges the first of the at least two layers to partially conform to the outdoor faucet. The air further creates the space surrounding the outdoor faucet between the at least two layers. The space contains a volume of stationary air, which prevents a movement of air current from transferring heat from the outdoor faucet to an outdoor environment.

Abstract: A collapsible head covering device includes a wide-brimmed hat made of an anti-UV waterproof fabric and having a memory metal wire ring fastened to the border edge of the brim thereof, a cap detachably accommodated in the wide-brimmed hat for capping on the head of a person, and a fastening belt selectively inserted through multiple through holes on the wide-brimmed hat and multiple through holes on the cap to fasten the wide-brimmed hat to the cap in one of multiple different angular positions.

Abstract: An article of headwear is disclosed that includes a support and a material element secured to the support. The support extends around a periphery of the headwear and has an elongate structure that defines a first end portion and a second end portion. The support is flexed such that the first end portion overlaps the second end portion to define a loop with an interior area, and the end portions may have mating undulating configurations. The material element is secured to the support and extends around the interior area of the loop to define an aperture for receiving a head of an individual. The support may be flexed to form multiple loops and place the headwear in a collapsed configuration.

Abstract: A collapsible hat, comprising a crown formed of a flexible or bendable material, with inner and outer portions, a brim attached to the inner portion of the crown, a spring connected between the inner and outer portions of the crown for holding the crown in an upright or open state, the spring being collapsible so that the crown can be flattened against the brim for collapsing the hat into a flattened state.

The rim has a core layer that is made from at least one of an animal hide and a synthetic animal hide, and a second layer. The core layer has an upwardly facing surface and a downwardly facing surface and at least part of one of the upwardly facing surfaces and downwardly facing surfaces is covered by the second layer.

Abstract: A hat assembly including a hat that is selectively disposed in either a collapsed position or an expanded position is shown. The hat comprises a head engaging portion including a side wall, a crown and a brim. The brim has a substantially annular configuration at least partially defined by a central opening and an outer periphery having a continuous, substantially circular configuration. The side wall have an inner end being of substantially equal dimension as a circumference of the central opening and the inner end is secured continuously to the circumference along mutual lengths thereof. Breathing holes may be formed in the side walls to prevent sweating or perspiration on the head of a wearer. The hat has an expanded position and a collapsed position wherein the crown is structured to be folded into and out of the interior of the hat. A method of selectively disposing a hat in a hat assembly in either a collapsed position or an expanded position is also shown.

Abstract: The covered structure comprises a dome-shaped frame constructed using a plurality of ribs made of flexible materials and held in conformation by a flexible stay-band. A fabric crown covers the frame. A brim or visor is included to provide a covered structure useful as a cap or hat. The cap may be made adjustable to fit a range of head sizes while maintaining the shape of the crown. The structure may be covered with material which protects the wearer from the UV radiation and weather. Additionally, the overall shape of the covered structure can be made to mimic the shape of analogous larger structures and outdoor sports related equipment (specifically, tents). This latter feature of the present invention serves a promotional function enabling the covered structure to be a promotional item useful for advertising or promoting the larger structure by association.

Abstract: A hat assembly capable of being repeatedly, easily and selectively oriented either in a compact, collapsed position for convenient storage and transport, or in an outwardly expanded position for wearing. The hat assembly includes a head engaging portion which at least partially encloses a portion of the head of a wearer, and an outwardly extending brim, both preferably made of a soft, flexible cloth material. The brim is structured to extend outwardly a significant distance from the head of the wearer so as to offer some protection to the wearer's face, neck and shoulders from the sun, by maintaining these areas in a shaded position. The hat assembly also includes a shaping frame in the form of a continuous, closed loop of flexible material secured to a outer periphery of the brim.

Abstract: To prevent a top panel of a crown of a collapsible hat from being crushed and creased, first portions of a frame member extending along a periphery of a brim of the hat are folded to overlap an exterior side of the top panel, and second portions of the frame member are folded to overlap an interior side of the top panel. The frame portions maintain a neat appearance for the top panel even after the hat has been repeatedly collapsed.
