Patent number: 5715540Abstract: A free-size cap is capable of fitting wearers having a range of head sizes. The cap includes a multi-gore shell forming a crown portion, and a visor or bill portion connected to the crown portion. Ones of the gores forming the multi-gore shell are composed of a uniaxially stretchable woven material capable of being stretched only along the chordial axis of said multi-gore shell. The free-size cap has the aesthetic appeal of a fixed-size style cap, being capable of custom fitting all wearers within a predetermined range of head sizes, without requiring an adjustable fastener portion or an open portion on the back of the cap. An advantage of this free-size cap is that it is capable of custom fitting all wearers within a predetermined range of head sizes, without the drawback of changes in shape due to differences in head size.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1994Date of Patent: February 10, 1998Assignee: Yupoong & Co., Ltd.Inventor: Byoung Woo Cho

Patent number: 5694647Abstract: A flexible weather-shield accessory that can be attached to any headgear, or in the absence of other headgear, that can be worn by itself on a user's head. The accessory has a body portion capable of shielding the wearer's neck and ears. This body portion includes a visor-covering area that can lie across the visor or forward extension of the brim of a hat, extending coverage forward of the wearer's face. Thus the accessory is also capable of shielding the sides of the face, including nose and chin. The accessory has an inner opening with a size-adjustment mechanism that allows for the insertion of, and releasable attachment onto, the crown of a hat, cap, or head. It can adjust to fit onto any size head or hat. Fasteners are located at the front lower edge of the accessory to enable the accessory to be loosely closed together below the chin and neck of the wearer, and alternatively, to allow the accessory to be fastened to the upper button and buttonhole of the wearer's shirt or blouse.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1994Date of Patent: December 9, 1997Inventor: Ingrid C. Patent number: 5666668Abstract: A baseball-style cap unencumbered by a bill or visor. A brimless baseball-style cap has the advantages of being lightweight, requires less structure and therefore less material, is inexpensive and provides opportunities for unique attachments.
