Abstract: The combination of a headwear piece having: a) a crown with a wall having an inside surface bounding a space for receiving a part of a wearer's head; and b) a rim/bill projecting from a forward region of the crown; and an accessory having a body with a thickness between front and rear sides and made from a material that substantially blocks migration of moisture therethrough. The accessory has an array of small openings extending through the body thickness to provide for air passage. The accessory is configured to be placed in an operative position against the inside surface of the crown wall at the forward region of the crown to reduce contaminant transmission from a wearer's head to the inside surface of the crown wall at the forward region.

Abstract: An improved traction sweatband includes a flexible collar for fitting onto the head of a wearer. The front of the collar has at least one aperture formed therein. The aperture or apertures each have a circumferential edge extending completely around the aperture. A flexible resilient sheet or sheets are mounted to the back surface of the collar so as to cover each aperture in the front of the collar. Each resilient sheet is mounted around the circumferential edge of its corresponding aperture.

Abstract: The Combination Baseball Cap Sweat Protector and Crown Shaper has a first component for absorbing perspiration from the users skin and the second component holds the first component in place and helps to maintain the original front shape of the crown of the sports cap. Abstract: A stretchable sweatband for using a cap comprising a stretchable band, a fabric and a seaming portion is provided. The stretchable band has at least one rubber band and a plurality of elastic yarns, which are sewed together along a longitudinal direction. The fabric covers the stretchable band along the longitudinal direction thereof. The seaming portion is used to seam the fabric and the stretchable band together, which is capable of adjusting the longitudinal direction of the stretchable sweatband.

Abstract: A system for placing a disposable sweatband on a variety of hats comprises the steps of attaching an adhesive tape with a backing paper to at least one longitudinal edge of the sweatband, for affixing to the hat in use. The adhesive tape can also be formed as an inner flap of the sweatband.

Abstract: A double-structure headwear and a manufacturing method thereof may provide improved productivity by easily forming the double-structure headwear and provide a shielding effect against external heat and wearing comfort. The double-structure headwear includes a first wearing portion, and a second wearing portion being disposed on an inner side of the first wearing portion. The first and second wearing portions have each lower portion sewed and folded to a predetermined height in a vertical direction, and the first wearing portion has a lower thermal conductivity and lower contact thermal sensation than that of the second wearing portion.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hat which can be made of multiple pieces or one integral piece of soft material sewed into a hat body having a crown portion and a brim portion. An elastic band is sewed onto and along a lower inner periphery of the crown portion of the hat body in specially patterned stitches to replace the lining band and decorative hat band usually used on a conventional hat. The hat can be folded without becoming deformed. The elastic band provides the hat with adjustable size and tightness to suit to different head shapes and sizes.

Abstract: A removable anterior sweatband assembly suited for use in a baseball-style cap or hat that has a circular headband includes a perspiration-absorbent pad suspended from a support member between the cap headband and the forehead so as to prevent the forehead from contacting the headband of the cap. The pad includes an absorbent material for holding perspiration to help prevent the perspiration from the forehead of the person wearing the cap from contacting the cap. In one form, a four-layer structure or assembly is provided including a stiff supporting sheet and depending therefrom a laminate of three layers including the perspiration-absorbing layer, e.g., a super-absorbent cloth layer, a backing layer and a porous perspiration transferring layer between the absorbent layer and the forehead and in contact with the absorbent layer.

Abstract: An improved sweat band. The sweat band includes an elastic band adapted to fit around a user's head and a length of sponge cloth intermittently attached along spaced apart locations to the elastic band. Only the ends and spaced apart segments of the strips are attached to the elastic band, therefore allowing the elastic band to stretch without being restricted by the inelastic sponge material. In the preferred embodiment, a tubular fabric wrap surrounds the elastic band and the length of sponge cloth to provide additional absorption and also to provide comfort to the user.

Abstract: A self-adjusting, fabric-covered sweat band for a hat including a crown having a base of an inner circumference, includes an elastic material which has a length of a first dimension, which is shorter than the inner circumference of the base of the crown of the hat, and a width of a second dimension and which has a front edge, rear edge, a first edge and a second edge running lengthwise and a fabric material which has a length of a third dimension, which is longer than the circumference of the inner base of the crown of the hat, and a width of a fourth dimension, which is greater than four times the second dimension and which has been folded over along a lengthwise centerline.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an improved method of installing sweatbands or the like in non-sized hats. The band and fabric may be installed in the crown of a hat by a novel rolling process which saves time and expense, while leaving a seamless finish in the area of the soft cloth.

Abstract: A cold weather hat is formed of layered material comprised of an intermediate layer of open-cellular foam, an outer fabric layer, and an inner fabric. The hat has a high moisture vapor transmission rate. The hat has ear flaps which are constructed to conform to the configuration of the sides of an individual's face, eliminating the need for straps, and bill which is movable between upper and lower positions by a snap-type action. Peripheral vision is enhanced while the washer's head is kept warm.
