Abstract: A ball cap is provided that has a crown that has a highest crown point located in a vertical direction and a lowest crown point located in the vertical direction. A brim extends forward of the crown in a longitudinal direction of the ball cap, and the brim extends in the vertical direction to a highest brim point. The highest brim point is closer to the highest crown point in the vertical direction than to the lowest crown point in the vertical direction. In other versions of the ball cap, a crown is provided in the ball cap and in yet further versions portions of the crown can be covered by the brim.

Abstract: A soft armor panel includes a first layer having a first outward facing surface and an opposite first inward facing surface. The soft armor panel also includes a second layer disposed adjacent to the first inward facing surface of the first layer, the second layer having a proximate end and a distal end. The soft armor panel further includes a third layer disposed adjacent to the second layer opposite the first layer. The third layer has a second outward facing surface and an opposite second inward facing surface, the second inward facing surface facing the second layer. The third layer includes a folded portion extending around at least one of the proximate end or the distal end of the second layer and tucking in between the first layer and the second layer.

For example, the headwear may include a headwear body including a crown, and a hat brim extending from the crown, the hat brim including one or more slits forming a hinge on an underside of the hat brim for folding the hat brim, each slit being reinforced with bias material along each edge of the slit and a center webbing over an opening formable under the slit when the brim is in a folded position, the bias material being coupled to an inner surface of each edge of the slit.

The stiffener has a first longitudinal end that is adjacent the inner edge, a second longitudinal end that is adjacent the inner edge, an intermediate portion that is disposed between the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end, a top side, and a bottom side. A visor is attached to the crown and includes a visor cover disposed over a unitary visor body. The visor body has a first surface and an opposing second surface to define a uniform thickness. The visor body is configured with at least one slit formed therein. The at least one slit defines a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion is transitional relative to the proximal portion between a first position and a second position. The slit allows the distal portion of the visor to adjust relative to the proximal portion, thereby to enhancing the visor appearance of the headwear and providing a better shade to the wearer.

The front and back edges of each stem holder may be partially attached to the crown such that the opening is larger along the front than along the back. At least a portion of the opening may be angled downward from front to back. For brimmed headwear, a raised flair may be positioned on the brim to create a pocket between it and the crown. For brimless headwear, the raised flair may be attached to the front of the crown to form a pocket between it and at least a portion of the crown. In either the brimmed or brimless configuration, the lens portion of the glasses will rest in the pocket when the stems of the glasses are inserted into the stem holders.

Abstract: An environmentally-friendly visor stiffening member and a manufacturing method thereof may provide a smoothly curved shape without using an environmentally-bad plastic material and being easily sewn. The environmentally-friendly visor stiffening member is sandwiched with at least one fabric piece layer, an adhesive resin layer disposed under the fabric piece layer, and a pulp or cellulose board layer disposed under the fabric piece layer via the adhesive resin layer. With this structure, the visor portion may have a smoothly curved shape even though it is not made of an environmentally-bad synthetic resin material, it may not be easily ruptured even if excessive force is applied thereto, and it may be easily sewn to provide a beautiful aesthetic appearance.

Abstract: Headwear such as a hat, cap, or visor with a headband and a brim extending outwardly therefrom includes a crescent shaped opening defined by an inner portion of the brim and an external leading edge of the headband. Beyond the opening the opaque brim extends away from the headband to an outward tip, and to lateral side edges. The opaque brim is attached at its lateral edges directly to the external leading edge of the headband. The crescent shaped opening allows more flow at a central area of the brim, yet it narrows toward lateral edges of the brim to ensure that sunlight toward the wearer's sides is adequately blocked from eye contact. This novel structure provides maximum shading of the wearer's face, yet directs considerable airflow from beneath and above the brim through the opening to cool the wearer's eccrine glands along the forehead.

Abstract: The invention is an article of headwear that incorporates an adjustment system for accommodating individuals with various head dimensions. The headwear may be formed of a crown and a visor. With respect to the crown, the adjustment system includes a first elastic material, which forms a majority of the crown, and a second elastic material, which is screenprinted or otherwise attached to a flap positioned within the crown. Regarding the visor, the adjustment system resides in a visor board configuration wherein slits are formed to separate various portions of the visor board. The slits permit the portions to move relative to each other, thereby permitting the visor to expand to accommodate stretching of the crown.

Abstract: A baseball-style cap having a freely transformable visor which includes an upper fabric portion, a lower fabric portion, and a resilient stiffener placed therebetween. The cap further includes a piped fabric portion that is located between the upper and lower fabric portions, adjacent an outer periphery of such upper and lower portions, into which a deformable material is inserted. The deformable material includes a plastic sheath defining a channel, and a metal material lying within the channel and enclosed thereby. The combination of the resilient stiffener and the deformable material allows the visor to be readily bent or folded as well as easily restored to its original configuration. The resulting cap can be produced easily, is attractive in use and can be carried in a pocket without damage to the visor.

An observer can view a first image or set of images on the brim from a first direction and second image or set of images on the brim from a second direction.

Abstract: A visor structure for hats and sun visors in which a visor material of a soft or rigid material is partially cut from the upper and lower ends at predetermined intervals to allow the cut visor to maintain its curved shape when bent along the cut lines so that when a cap or sun visor with a visor of this structure is turned inside out, the visor maintains its curved shape. By attaching a different letter or figure of a mark, emblem or logo on the inner and outer portions respectively of the main body, and by using different colored or textured fabric, a single hat or sun visor structure can display effectively two different hats or sun visors in one to satisfy the diversified preferences of the wearer.
