  • Patent number: 9999290
Abstract: Personal load-carrying systems are described. Embodiments include a waist belt having a pocket within which a support panel sets. An upper portion of the support panel resides in a sleeve coupled to a backpack or ballistic garment. The support panel thus supports some of the weight of the backpack or ballistic garment and transfers the load to the waist belt. Embodiments include personal load-carrying systems in which a backpack and ballistic garment use the same waist belt and support panel, and are interchangeable thereupon. Variations include personal load-carrying systems in which a ballistic garment and backpack are worn simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 9970736
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide tactical devices, such as vests and soft ballistic armor, configured for a female wearer and methods of manufacturing the same. In one implementation, a front carrier has an inner surface and an outer surface forming an interior. A front carrier pocket is disposed on the outer surface of the front carrier, and the front carrier pocket is adapted to receive a ballistic hard plate. A soft ballistic armor is disposed in the interior of the front carrier. The soft ballistic armor has an armor female shape defined by a set of lateral portions connecting an upper portion and a lower portion. A lateral dart is disposed in each of the lateral portions. The lateral darts are each adapted to displace the ballistic hard plate in a direction away from the inner surface of the front carrier.

  • Patent number: 9958238
Abstract: A protective device and method of design to protect against multiple blast and impact events for use in any application in which a delicate target has to be protected. The protective device for mitigating the effects of blast or impact employs a first layer having a first acoustic impedance and a second layer having a second acoustic impedance. The second acoustic impedance is different than the first acoustic impedance. The second layer is proximate to the first layer. The first layer and the second layer are chosen collectively to tune the stress waves from the blast or impact events to one or more specific tuned frequencies. A third layer of a visco-elastic material is employed having a critical damping frequency that matches one or more specific tuned frequencies to dissipate the stress waves of the blast and impact event. The third layer is proximate to the second layer.

  • Patent number: 9956471
Abstract: The protective structure comprises a at least in one direction curved support rib structure of a material or a material composition that is suited for injection molding, which support rib structure is formed of an outer frame and of inner frames fitted into the interior space of the outer frame and being fixed to each other and/or to the outer frame. The material thickness of the support rib structure varies in a direction perpendicular to a surface formed by the support rib structure so that the material thickness is greater at the middle of the support rib structure compared to the material thickness at the edges of the support rib structure.

  • Patent number: 9901127
Abstract: A quick release fastening system associated with wearable articles is disclosed. The quick release fastening system includes a hook and loop fastener and a pull cord. A quick release of the fastening system can be accomplished with a frontal pull of the pull cord, which disengages the hook and loop fastener. No hardware is necessary to fasten or release the system. In some forms of the invention, the pull cord partially resides within a conduit that can be attached to or formed through the wearable article. The quick release fastening system is useful in any application wherein two articles need to be releasably fastened, including tactical vest applications of various types.
