Abstract: Headgear includes a body having an interior fabric panel defining an inwardly facing interior surface and an exterior fabric panel defining an outwardly facing exterior surface. Opposite ends of the exterior fabric panel are located in a rear region of the headgear and opposite ends of the interior fabric panel overlapping to an extent are located in a front region of the headgear. The interior and exterior panels are secured together such that the body surrounds a head-receiving area and is configured for donning on a person's head. A grommet is attached to the body and defines an opening extending through the exterior fabric panel into a space located between the exterior fabric panel and the interior fabric panel. The overlapping ends of the interior fabric panel define a passage accommodating the passing of a light apparatus therethrough for frictional fit in the grommet. Preferably, the body defines a headband.

The sensing mechanism can include a wave emitter and a wave detector. The wave emitter and the wave detector can be arranged so that the wave travels along a path that is substantially parallel to outer faces of the filter media. The wave detector can be located at a first edge of the frame, and the wave emitter can be located spaced apart laterally from the wave detector at a second edge of the frame, so that waves from the emitter can travel along the path through and laterally across the filter media towards the detector. The path can be substantially perpendicular to the general direction of air flow within the filter media.

The method includes disposing a metal layer on a dielectric layer to form a sub-assembly, forming patterned circuits on the metal layer, forming blind vias in the dielectric layer, fabricating first thermoelectric elements in a first series of blind vias, and fabricating second thermoelectric elements in a second series of blind vias to form thermoelectric units with the first thermoelectric elements and the patterned circuits. The sub-assembly is configured to be joined to an adjacent sub-assembly along a first direction, and the first and second thermoelectric elements of each thermoelectric unit are aligned in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The pocket is shaped to receive a body part such as a hand (e.g., the article is glove/mitten-shaped). Different sizes of holes may be provided in the web to generate different sizes of bubbles.

The sweat-diverting devices described here may be adhered over a portion of the face without circumscribing the head. Such sweat-diverting devices may comprise a first leg and a second leg that are joined at a base of the device to form a channel therebetween, where at least a portion of the base is more rigid than the first and second legs such that an acute angle between the first and second legs is maintained when the sweat-diverting device is applied on a wearer's forehead. In some variations, the thickness of the base is greater than the thickness of either of the legs, which may help to maintain a separation between the tips of the legs even when the sweat-diverting device is applied to a wearer's forehead.
