Abstract: A lightweight visor of semi-rigid plastic mesh material is sized to provide filtered sun ray incidence with minimum wind resistance to and through to the head of the wearer. The visor is crescent-shaped with the outer and larger curvature of the crescent forming the visor brim and the inner and smaller curvature of the crescent forming the head-contacting surface of the visor. The smaller curvature of the crescent is always maintained with a curvature that is greater than the head of the wearer and is provided with a soft liner disposed in the plane of the visor for contact to the head of the wearer. Provision is made for the removably detachable mounting of light-obstructing shades, each shade occupying less than one-third of the total area of the visor.
Abstract: An adjustable baseball or sports type hat is disclosed having an adjustable circumferential portion along the bottom of the crown. A visor may be attached to the front portion of the crown. At least two, but eventually four, two-part adjustment clasps are affixed near each temple of the crown to alter the size of the circumferential portion of the crown. Preferably, the adjustment clasps are hidden when adjusted for the wearer. This is accomplished by embedding one part of the adjustment clasp in or from a detachable flap, which can be created by leaving a part of adjacent triangular sections unsewn. The other part of the clasp is attached to the adjacent crown section, near the visor zone or front.
Abstract: An adjustable aperture containing hat apparatus includes a head-covering portion, an aperture portion defined by the head-covering portion, and an aperture size adjustment assembly attached to the head-covering portion, adjacent to the aperture portion, for adjusting the size of the aperture portion. Preferably, the aperture portion is located at a top central portion of the head-covering portion. Ordinarily, a hat brim is attached to the head-covering, but can be brimless. With using the adjustable aperture containing hat apparatus, a person's hair braids (ponytail or dreadlocks) can be threaded through the aperture portion, and the aperture size adjustment assembly contracts around the bases of the hair braids (ponytail or dreadlocks).
Abstract: An auxiliary visor for a standard riding helmet. The visor includes a bill fixed to an elongated flexible band. Facing sides of the ends of the band include mating fasteners that permit the band to surround and apply an inwardly-directed force to the exterior surface of a helmet. The interior surface of the band includes a strip of material of predetermined non-sticky composition.
Abstract: Headwear in the form, for example, of a baseball cap (1) is provided in its front portion (4) with an inlet aperture (20) with which is associated a baffle (22) whereby in use on the wearer's head, midly turbulent air flow is induced into the cap space (10) by virtue of the baffle (22) thereby to create a cooling effect upon the wearer's head (8).
Abstract: A head manipulating device for assisting movement of a user's head following an injury. The head manipulating device includes a first band member having ends and being adapted to extend about a back and sides of a user's head; and also includes a second band member having ends and being adapted to extend about a front and the sides of the user's head and being removably and adjustably fastened to the first band member; and further includes a visor member being securely attached to the second band member; and also includes a head lift member being removably and pivotally connected to the first band member and being extended about the front of the user's head; and further includes fastening members for fastening the first and second band members together.
