Abstract: A finger brace device is disclosed herein. The finger brace device can comprise a first hinge component configured to connect a proximal component configured to fit around at least a first portion of a finger near a wrist, to an intermediate component located at a central portion of the apparatus, wherein the proximal component is located at a lateral portion of the apparatus. Also disclosed is a second hinge component configured to connect the intermediate component of the apparatus to a distal component. Furthermore, a ball and socket joint is configured to allow a broad range of motion between the proximal component of the apparatus and the plate component.

Abstract: A football glove having a silicone palm portion, silicone finger portions that wrap around lateral side portions to the thumb, index finger and little finger, and a silicone back portion that wraps around a lateral side portion of the back to increase the user's hand grip on a football. The silicone portions and non-silicone portions of the glove are connected together along locations on the back side of the glove so as to on the rear portions of the glove to provide a continuous smooth catching surface for the glove user.

Abstract: A device and methods for making and using an oral procedure apparatus include a tubular member and a flange. The tubular member forms a lumen extending from a first end of the tubular member to a second end of the tubular member, the lumen having a lumen cross-section sized to admit a human finger extending through the lumen, the tubular member having a tubular cross-section sized to be admitted into a mouth of a patient, the tubular member formed from a material substantially resilient against a bite from the mouth of the patient. The flange is coupled to the first end of the tubular member, the flange having a flange cross-section sized larger than the mouth of the patient.

Abstract: A multi-layer material system used to form various products that encourages moist substances or medications to stay on and penetrate a person's skin for moisturizing benefits and protection, as well as for medical treatment. The system enables a degree of outward vapor and air flow while preventing bulk transfer of the moist substances. Simultaneously, the system provides resistance to, and protection from, external elements including one or more of heat, ultraviolet radiation and mechanical abrasion. One such product is a glove formed of the material system and having articulatable closed ends at each digit for enabling selective exposure of a respective fingertip and nail.

Abstract: A therapeutic bracelet includes a strip of elastomeric material that defines an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a plurality of finger holes extending through the strip. The strip of elastomeric material is configured to be positioned over an operative hand of a user and to be worn around a wrist of the user. Upon periodic removal of the therapeutic bracelet from the wrist, the user inserts one or more digits in the finger holes from the interior surface and stretches the therapeutic bracelet with a thumb of the operative hand or with an opposite hand. A method of using the therapeutic bracelet to alternately strengthen and stretch the operative hand is also provided. The bracelet may also be used for supporting the wrist in an ergonomically correct position; and, when turned inside out, for massaging sore or injured muscles.

Abstract: An eating utensil for gripping food such as chicken drumsticks is disclosed. The utensil has a tube which is shaped and dimensioned to accommodate the end of the chicken drumstick. The utensil is made of a springy material such as silicone so that finger pressure may bend the material to grip the chicken. The opening is sized to accommodate the shape of the food and provide more secure gripping thereof. A material such as a soft non-slip grip silicone may be used. A plastic ridge surrounds the top to act as a plastic “grease dam” and keep drips from the hand. A small hole at the bottom allows for easy cleaning and drying.

Abstract: A fingertip grinder mechanism is provided with which a user can manually grind spices, herbs, and other organic materials without pain, fatigue, or other discomforts. Five specific types of fingertip grinders include the thumb grinder, the fore fingertip grinder, the two fingertip grinder, the three fingertip grinder, and the four fingertip grinder. An individual puts on one type of fingertip grinder on one hand and another type on the other hand and proceeds to rub their hands back and forth together to effect the grinding of the contents between the hands. The grinder element can have holes as well as the grinding spikes and a tray built in under the grinder element to catch and store the residue of the grinding process that enters through the holes. Magnets can be embedded in the fingertip elements so that they can cling to each other and not get misplaced.

Abstract: A system and method for identifying areas of a processing plant in which a glove is damaged. The system includes utilizing color-coded sets of gloves in different areas or processing steps within the plant. All the gloves used in a particular plant are provided with a unique identifier. If a piece of a glove is located in the product within the plant, the color of that piece indicates the area or process of the plant in which the glove was used. If a piece of a damaged glove is located in the product at a remote destination, the unique identifier in that piece is matched with a registry to determine the plant in which the glove was used. The color of the piece then helps the plant to identify where the damaged glove was used. The system and method are particularly helpful in the food processing industry, especially meat processing.

Abstract: A thumb mounted ammunition loader engages a digit, preferably a thumb, of the user's hand to protect the digit while loading ammunition into a magazine. The thumb mounted ammunition loader additionally maintains traction to the pressure applied to the ammunition, as the thumb mounted ammunition loader provides a barrier to depositing skin oil onto the ammunition. The thumb mounted ammunition loader includes a digit-mounting tube, a digit-receiving opening, a distal-closed end, and at least one joint-accommodating aperture. The digit-mounting tube engages the digit. The digit-receiving opening allows the digit to be inserted into the digit-mounting tube. The distal-closed end interfaces with the ammunition as the user applies pressure to the ammunition through the distal-closed end. The at least one joint-accommodating aperture provides flexibility of the thumb mounted ammunition loader for the user to maintain range of motion of the digit.

Abstract: Finger sheaths provide individual finger coverings. The individual finger coverings prevent the transfer of germs, dirt, and other residual and harmful elements onto the user's fingers when contacting exposed surfaces or items as well as their transfer from the user's fingers to the user's mouth while eating finger foods. The individual finger coverings further prevent the transfer of residual elements from the finger food onto the user's fingers. The finger sheaths have a non-permeable organic composition that does no impart undesired tastes. The finger sheaths can be incorporated with antimicrobial, antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties about the outside surface and a sanitizing gel on the inside surface. The finger sheaths can be incorporated with custom flavorings and imprinted with digestible dyes to present custom patterns.

Abstract: A resiliently flexible grip for fishing rods has a hollow tubular main body and includes a retaining band that wraps around the fishing rod, which keeps the flexible grip fixed to a trigger of a fishing rod. The main body conforms to any shape of the trigger and compresses uniformly to provide a custom fit on the trigger. The grip, during use, compresses and conforms to the individual user's finger and hands providing comfort while fishing.

Abstract: A finger protecting device protects fingertips of a user from soreness and supports a wrist of the user while knitting. The device includes a band configured for positioning around a wrist of a user. A pair of finger guards is provided. Each of the finger guards has a top edge and a perimeter wall extending downwardly from the top edge. Each of the top edges and the perimeter walls define an interior space of the finger guards wherein the finger guards are configured for positioning over a thumb and an index finger of the user. A pair of straps is provided. Each of the straps couples the band to an associated one of the finger guards.

Abstract: Finger extensions for astronaut gloves for astronaut suits are disposed in sleeves on digits of the gloves. Different embodiments for the extensions are illustrated and discussed. The sleeves are secured to the tops of the digits. The extension elements include bases disposed in the sleeves and tips at outer ends of the bases. The tips may include pads which contact elements desired to be manipulated. The extensions are pivotal with the movement of the astronaut's digits in a glove. Only a slight movement of the astronaut's digits is required to provide the required dexterity for the astronaut user to grasp, pick up, move, etc., desired elements with the extensions. Inflexible rings about the extensions are fixed to the gloves prevent reverse bending of the extensions and maintain the extensions generally parallel to the users fingers. The extensions may be fixed or extendable and retractable, as desired.

Abstract: A surgical guide is disclosed and methods of use are disclosed. The surgical guide is adapted to receive a surgeon's finger for dissecting to a target site. The surgical guide comprises a first component defining a channel and comprising a palpating portion and a non-palpating portion disposed on an opposing side from the palpating portion. The surgical guide further comprises a second component engaged with the first component and defining a guide channel extending therethrough. The guide channel is adapted to receive a guide pin suitable for insertion to the target site such that the guide pin is carried adjacent the non-palpating portion of the first component.

Abstract: This invention relates to aid devices for assisting people inhibited in their movement of especially the hands and/or wrists, such as people who are physically impaired due to arthritis, injury, or other physiological problems giving reduced strength. This is solved by introducing an aid tool comprising at least two grippers and means to attach each gripper to a finger of a person, where the grippers are adapted to follow the individual finger in a movement in the direction of closing and loosen of a grip, and where an activation of the aid tool includes locking the grippers unidirectionally in the present position. The invention further introduces mounting means for attaching the aid tool to a body part, and where the mounting means comprises coupling means for detaching and attaching this and other tools according to the need.

Abstract: An archery finger tab (10) for a bowstring is taught, which consists of a tab face (20) having an index finger portion (26), a middle and ring finger portion (28) and a U-shaped slot (30). A backing member (36) is juxtaposed beneath the tab face and has the same configuration as the tab face. A mounting plate (38) is attached jointly to a rear edge of the tab face and the backing member, with the mounting plate having plurality of strap receiving slots (32). The mounting plate has a finger spacer (44) attached beneath the U-shaped slots in the tab face and backing member, and includes a snap buckle (56) attached on top of the mounting plate. A finger retaining strap (64) is attached to the mounting plate adjacent to the mounting plate forward edge and forms an index finger loop (66), a middle finger loop (68) and a ring finger loop (70). The strap (64) ends when attached to the snap buckle (56).
