Trouser Attachments Patents (Class 2/23)
  • Patent number: 4484361
Abstract: An elbow or knee pad and a method of making the same are disclosed. The pad includes an elasticized sleeve to surround the joint to be protected and a pad assembly fastened to the sleeve. The pad assembly includes a fabric covering over a polyurethane foam backing. A recess is formed in the polyurethane by pressing a hot die into it and a dense, modified polyurethane is cast in the recess. The combination of polyurethane foam and dense, modified polyurethane provides superior shock absorption and protection from impact.

  • Patent number: 4483019
Abstract: A dry diving suit has a protective piece which extends completely around each leg, the underlying material of the leg and the protective piece being united longitudinally only at the inseam. A two-layer leg is thus provided with but one longitudinal seam. Each leg is glued at its lower edge to a latex sock. The protective piece is seamed circumferentially to the leg above the glue line of the sock. The inseam extends vertically down only to the circumferential seam of the protective piece.

  • Patent number: 4479269
Abstract: A shock absorbing pad is formed of first and second interleaved constituent components of different hardness which are interleaved through the thickness of the pad for absorbing forces applied in the direction of the pad thickness. The pads are formed by die cutting interim pads from mats of the first and second materials with the pads comprising constituent components that are separable. The constituent components are separated and respectively associated with different constituent components formed of the other material to provide the desired pad formed of the two interleaved different materials.

  • Patent number: 4455686
Abstract: Athletic pants of the type worn by football players include in each pant leg a frontal pocketed thigh pad and an adjacent independently pocketed pad to cover and protect the vastus lateralis. The hinged cooperative relationship of the two separate pads allows full leg flexure and freedom of movement without binding or discomfort. The added side pad also prevents excessive movement of the larger frontal pad and tends to hold the latter in its preferred position. The additional pad is easily installable on newly manufactured and existing pants at relatively minimal cost.

  • Patent number: 4351065
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a protective garment for the user of a chain saw; the garment includes at least a portion forming pad consisting of a plurality of superposed layers of canvas sheets, at least one of which is loosely attached to the pad so that, when the chain of the saw accidentally touches the garment, the said loose layer is readily pulled off to jam and stop the rotation of the saw chain.

  • Patent number: 4292263
Abstract: For both orthopedic and sports uses, a foamed plastic pad is integrally molded to a fabric. More particularly, a knitted sleeve is constructed having a terry loop on the interior surface of a hydrophobic yarn (e.g. acrylic) and an exterior surface of a hydrophilic yarn (e.g. cotton), whereby moisture is wicked away from the surface in a hydrokinetic fashion. A soft, hydrophilic polyurethane foam pad, which acts as a sponge, absorbs the moisture, is molded integrally with the sleeve, leaving the terry loops free for skin contact. For sports uses, knitted or woven fabrics may be employed, and stiffer, polyurethane foams are preferred.

  • Patent number: 4091466
Abstract: A unitary hockey garment formed of material comprising a body portion adapted to be snugly worn about the lower trunk area of the body and conforming to the contours thereof, with an integral crotch area associated with the body portion, and a pair of legs integrally connected to the body portion, each leg adapted to surround one leg of a wearer's body, and terminating in a foot portion connected to each of the leg portions adapted to surround the foot of the wearer. The foot portion includes an inner sock beneath the material of the garment, with a waist elastic band connected to the body portion at the upper end thereof, having crotch elastic bands extending from the crotch area to the waist elastic band, and an upper leg elastic band extending horizontally on each of the legs adjacent the crotch area, with a lower leg elastic band extending horizontally on each of the legs adjacent the foot portion, and a protective knee pad on each of the legs between the upper and lower elastic bands.
