The outer glove can be attached to the outer body suit sleeve whether or not the glove liner has been attached to the outer glove. The outer foot covers are removably attachable to distal ends of outer body suit legs. The outer foot cover can be attached to the outer body suit leg whether or not the foot cover liner has been attached to the outer foot cover. The outer hood is removably attachable to the outer body suit. The outer hood can be attached to the outer body suit whether or not the hood liner has been attached to the outer hood. The body suit liner, glove liner, foot cover liner and hood liner are constructed of material which is insulative and absorbent.

Abstract: A multi-purpose garment has an elongated, rectangular first sheet. The first sheet has an inside surface, an outside surface, a pair of short sides and a pair of long sides. A hood has a bottom edge attached at a central position along one of the long sides of the first sheet. A first pocket is disposed on the inside of the first sheet and opens towards the hood at a central position along the one long side of the first sheet. The first pocket is positioned and sized to receive the hood folded therein. A reversible second pocket is disposed on the outside of the first sheet and opens away from the hood at a central position along the one long side of the first sheet and the second pocket is sized to receive the first sheet folded therein.

Two points on the top edge of the fabric sheet may be reversibly connected to the right and left edges, thereby forming sleeves. A user may use the fabric sheet as a coat by placing his/her arms through the sleeves and wrapping the fabric sheet around him/herself. Reversibly connecting two points along the top edge of the fabric sheet to each other may further provide a hood while the fabric sheet is used as a coat. Alternatively, a detachable hood may be reversibly connected to the top edge of the fabric sheet while the fabric sheet is used as a coat. The detachable hood may comprise a pocket with two adjacent open sides.

Abstract: In a protective garment, such as one worn by a firefighter, a rescue worker, or a racing car driver, in which fasteners, such as snap fasteners, are used for attaching a liner detachably to a coat, a hood having a cape hanging downwardly is provided with loops. Each loop has two ends and is affixed at each end to the cape. Each loop is adapted to extend around a respective fastener, between the coat and the liner, so as to attach the hood detachably when the liner is attached detachably to the coat. In one contemplated embodiment, the ends of each loop are affixed to each other and to the cape. In another contemplated embodiment, the loops are defined by a continuous ribbon affixed to the cape at spaced intervals defining the ends of the loops.

An integral pouch provides transport and storage of the garment plus a pocket when garment is worn.

The garment includes a protective hood that may be attached to a body-covering piece of the garment, or that may be used separately. The body-covering section and the hood are fabricated substantially entirely of a see-through mesh material that is breathable but that prevents very small insects from entering. The hood includes a crown and a lower section that covers the face and sides and back of the head. The crown is fabricated with a plurality of crossing reinforcing strips designed to cause the lower section of the hood to stand off from the wearer's face.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a coat with an integral hood wherein the front portion of the hood contains a rolled-up face mask integral with the hood. In a preferred form, the hood has an interior pocket which stores the face mask when not in use. The face mask has an upper edge sewn to the hood interior and a lower edge having VELCRO strips which cooperate with mating velcro strips in the lower interior of the hood to hold the mask in a lowered position covering the wearer's face.

Abstract: A garment which may be employed as a robe or alternatively, as a towel, is disclosed. The garment comprises a generally rectangular piece of toweling material having a predetemined length and width wherein the length is greater than the width. A narrow slit extends in the direction of the length approximately midway across the width of the garment, thus providing an opening for the head of a wearer when the garment is worn as a robe. The article further includes a second piece of material which is attached to the garment and which serves as a hood when the garment is employed as robe. The second piece of material is sized and configured so as to allow it to cover the slit when the garment is used as a towel, such as a beach towel, to minimize user discomfort due to sand contact. Fasteners may be employed to releasably connect the sides of the garment when it is used as a robe.

An article defining a head garment is attached to a lower end of the bib panel. Abstract: A launderable reinforced full body suit is disclosed composed of a launderable environmentally contained, flexible, light weight base garment and launderable, flexible, light weight, heavy duty reinforcements on the base garment to provide a protective knee, seat, and elbow composed of a flexible, light weight material for providing heavy duty wear resistance through successive recycle and reuse, and a launderable protective sleeve composed of a flexible, light weight aramid fibers material for providing heavy duty penetration resistance from shot blasting.

Abstract: A fire protection garment may be constructed of a one piece woven fabric integrally formed to create a cloak-like garment to create a fire retardant emergency device. The garment contains a hood portion, a body portion formed with an entrance opening and a manipulating device on the interior of the body portion on each side of the entrance opening. The manipulating device can be hand receiving pockets. The garment is formed of a fabric selected to retain a fire retarding fluid so that the garment protects a person or persons within the garment from high intensity heat or flames. The manipulating device or hand receiving pockets provide a means for controlling the opening of the garment to enable a rescue to occur.

Abstract: An adjustment strap for a jacket hood which includes a plurality of buttonholes spaced apart at a distance equal to a separation distance between two buttons located on an interior surface of the hood. One end of the adjustment strap is permanently anchored to the jacket or hood with the other end being slidable within a sleeve extending about the periphery of the hood opening. The adjustment strap is slidable between three positions to provide varying degrees of reduction of the size of the hood opening. At each of the three positions, at least one button is secured to the adjustment strap to maintain the position of the adjustment strap and thus the size of the opening of the hood, at a fixed position. Intentional manipulative effort must be performed to change the position of the adjustment strap so as to alter the size of the opening of the jacket hood.

Abstract: A robe-like garment for use in changing clothes is large and loose-fitting on the wearer, with a hood, a large neck opening and a pair of short enlarged-diameter sleeves. In the front of the changing robe is a large central pocket which is accessible by zipper from the outside front of the garment and is also accessible from the inside of the garment. The changing robe is sufficiently roomy to permit the user to disrobe and change clothes inside the robe, retrieving clothing to be worn from the interior access of the large pocket, and placing the changed clothing in the same pocket. The sleeves of the robe are short enough and have large enough openings to permit convenient withdrawal of the user's arms to the interior of the robe. In a preferred embodiment the garment is formed of a liquid-absorbent terry cloth. The changing robe is useful in situations such a public beaches, for changing into and out of swimming gear.

Abstract: An article of clothing including a vest portion and a detachable hood having a polyacrylamide copolymer filler that cools the body by activating the cooling stage, which is done by placing the vest and hood in water for the required time or placing the vest and hood in ice water for required time. Top and bottom pieces of material (10), (12) will dry and the filler (14) will remain cool and moist. They are worn by placing on the body and attaching fasteners and will keep the individual cool for hours. They are made of materials that can be washed by the individual. They can be stored for days in plastic bags in the refrigerator. If long-term storage is needed, it can be accomplished by line-drying and then put away until ready for use again.

Abstract: A surgical gown is adapted to be operatively disposed to substantially cover a surgeon wearing a ventilator having a waist-mounted power unit, a head-mounted manifold structure, and at least one tube extending therebetween. The gown includes a head section, a waist section, and a shoulder section appropriately configured to cover analogous portions of the surgeon's body. A ventilator section, disposed between the head section and the waist section when the gown is operatively disposed on the surgeon, defines tube channel to receive the tube of the ventilator. This ventilator section forms an enlargement which facilitates movement of the head of the surgeon without substantial restriction by the head section of the gown. An interior tie gathers a front section of the gown around the neck of the surgeon to isolate movement between the head section and shoulder section.

Abstract: A multifunctional bag device according to this invention can be used not only as an ordinary bag, but also to provide a variety of functions by itself or with a sheet and hood contained in the bag. The multifunctional bag device of this invention includes a bag 1 consisting of right and left bag members 1a, 1b that is designed to contain appropriate things in it, a single sheet 2 which is contained in the bag 1 in a folded state, and a hood 3 formed so that it can be loaded on the upper portion of the sheet via fasteners. The bag 1 has handles 6 at the top, and edges of the right and left bag members are connected to each other at the bottom 4, and with a fastener 5 or other opening/closing device which allows the right and left bag members to be unfolded. The sheet 2 is equipped with a fastener 7 or other opening/closing device at peripheral edges to allow a bag 8 to be formed by folding the single sheet in half.

Abstract: A new and improved protective mesh garment apparatus for protecting a wearer's head and body includes a flaccid, cylindrical head covering assembly, made from mesh material, for completely covering the head and neck of the wearer, and for covering a portion of the chest, shoulders, and back of the wearer. The apparatus also includes a flaccid, cylindrical body covering assembly, made from mesh material, for completely covering the body of except for a portion of the wearer's legs above the wearer's ankles. The body covering assembly includes a central cylindrical portion and two arm portions. The central cylindrical portion includes a top open end and a bottom open end. The bottom open end has a diameter sufficiently large such that the bottom open end is capable of being lowered over a wearer's head and body.

Abstract: A combination headgear and poncho is provided which includes a hat having a crown portion with a liner disposed therein for forming a compartment in which the poncho is contained. The liner is formed with an aperture through which the poncho is extracted from or inserted into the compartment. Complimentary fastening means, such as hook and pile materials, are disposed at the liner along the aperture to secure the compartment. The crown portion is also provided with gathering means which operatively adapts the crown portion to snugly fit the wearer's head when the poncho is contained in the compartment or when the poncho has been removed from the compartment and deployed, resulting in the weight of the crown portion being reduced.

The protective garment-type cover is constructed of a cloth-like material which is constructed in the form of a cloak or a poncho for wearing by a child user and which is also adapted and constructed so as to be disposed over a carriage used for transporting the child user. The device can be worn as a poncho if desired during inclement weather.

Abstract: An adjustable hood system including a pair of drawstrings extending from the two temple areas of the wearer to the area corresponding to the nape of the neck. The drawstrings provide both vertical and lateral adjustability around the head of the wearer to allow the wearer to customize the fit of the hood, regardless of the size of the wearer's head or the amount of layers of headgear under the hood. The drawstrings are contained by a single cordlock so that the desired fit is achieved and maintained around the wearer's head with one simple operation of the drawstrings.

Abstract: A beekeeper's suit which is used for protection against bee stings and insect bites. The beekeeper's suit provides for the use of a multi-layered material from which substantially the entire suit is uniformly constructed. The material includes an outside net layer, an inside net layer and an intermediate porous cellular plastic layer. The inside and outside layers provide structural integrity to the suit, while the intermediate layer provides protection against the bee stings through its thickness of approximately 0.4-0.6 centimeters. The intermediate layer provides about 90-95% of void space with a high degree of permeability to permit ventilation an cooling of the users skin during activity.

Abstract: A garment arranged to enclose an individual includes a torso, leg portions, and sleeves, having a base web, with the base web including a matrix of loop members pivotally mounted in adjacency relative to one another coextensively over the garment. The garment base web, as well as the loop members, are formed of a camouflage material arranged to minimize reflection of light relative to the garment structure. Cooperative hood and glove members are provided for use with the organization.

Abstract: An automatic stool and urine disposing apparatus provides disposal even if a patient is unconscious or is disabled, without requiring the help of a care taker. This apparatus is composed of a wearing section, a disposal device installed in an aperture in the wearing section, a washing device incorporated in the disposal device, and a driving section for operating the device. The wearing section includes a disposing device having a fan operated by a motor, a water detecting sensor, a discharge aperture, and washing water and air supply holes. Also attached to the wearing section is an inflatable pressing tube which prevents leakage. The driving section includes relays for operating the disposing device in response to the presence of material to be disposed.

Abstract: The cold weather sleeping garment of the instant invention, used in conjunction with a sleeping bag, allows a user to sleep in sub-zero temperatures. The sleeping garment is separate from the sleeping bag but comfortably and snugly fastened to the user. The sleeping garment moves with the body which eliminates claustrophobia and loss of insulating value caused by displacement of the breathing hole away from the nose and mouth area of the user. By virtue of its ability to hug the body of the user and move with the user, the hole stays where placed initially with little or no displacement from the face. The shoulder protection serves to separate the bag into two sections preventing warm air in the bag and surrounding the user from being pushed out of the breathing hole when the user moves. An adaptation of the sleeping garment of the instant invention allows the insertion or removal of additional insulating material which affords the user greater comfort in changing weather conditions.

Abstract: A fire-protecting suit includes a fire protective clothing having a face mask for covering the head and a front pocket for keeping precious articles, a fire-proof eye shield, a mouthpiece and a cap-lamp respectively fastened to the face mask by elastic bands which, in turn, are sewn to the fire protective clothing, and an air tank (or a gas filter) and a battery power supply received inside the protective clothing and respectively connected to the mouthpiece and the cap-lamp by an air hose and an electric wire inside the protective clothing. The fire-protecting suit is folded up inside out when not in use. To use the suit, the face mask is put on the head to let the protective clothing be extended downwardly to cover the body. When the fire-protecting suit is in use, the air tank and the battery power supply are turned on, and then the hands are inserted through the sleeves of the protective clothing and extended out for saving things and performing a fire-fighting task.

Abstract: A firefighter coat having an outer shell which includes body and collar portions, an inner thermal liner having body and collar portions, and a hood including a rear portion having strips of hook and loop fastener material, located on opposing surfaces, for engaging complementary strips of hook and loop fastener material located on adjacent surfaces of the outer and inner collar portions. The hood includes a front bib for protecting the neck of the wearer and which includes tabs of fastener material for attachment to the outer collar portion. The hood may be carried on the back of the coat when not worn, or removed from the coat entirely, wherein the strips of fastener material on the inner and outer collar portions join the collar portions together to make a complete collar for the coat.

Abstract: A head protector for inclement weather includes a hood having a facial port and a neck portion surrounding a neck channel. A dickey is attached to the outside of the hood at the neck portion to also surround the neck channel, and a collar is attached to the outside of the neck portion between the hood and the dickey. A face shield having a mesh panel is attached to the hood across the facial port to cover the nose and mouth of the user. Also included is a flap which is releasably attachable to the hood to cover the face shield. A drawstring is attached to the outer periphery of the collar for cinching the collar around the neck of the user.

The opening in the back sheet portion of the protective hood is the same shape and size as the opening in the poncho-like part and the defining edges of two openings are welded together by means of a continuous seam. Abstract: A weather protective garment constructed to better protect an infant seated in a stroller from rain. The infant wears a poncho to which a cape has been attached in the back. The cape is sized to be drapable over the back of the stroller to keep rain from falling into the space between the infant and the back of the stroller, and then onto the stroller seat. This prevents water from pooling on the seat while, at the same time, maintaining the infant fully protected by the poncho.

The lower portion of the material strip is preferably wider than the upper portion, such that the lower portion will extend downwardly under the collar of a coat worn by a person.

Two parallel and spaced apart longitudinal cuts extend perpendicular to one of the short ends to define a pair of straps for the hood when the sheet is separated from the web and unfolded. A second pair of straps is formed by a third cut that extends perpendicular to the cut that is farther away from the fold. A user ends up with a raincoat that effectively protects him or her from the rain.

The garment is made entirely from a lightweight semi-rigid insect excluding mesh and is comprised of a one-piece fully encloseable head net attached to an upper body portion, with the upper body portion extending from the neck to proximate the hips of the wearer and has sleeves connected thereto. There is a separate lower portion extending from the wearer's waist and having leg members connected thereto. The one-piece fully encloseable head net is preferrably stitched to an upper body portion from about a right side shoulder seam to about a left side shoulder seam thereby forming a rear portion of a neckline. A means for opening and closing of the heat net (preferrably a zipper) is appropriately attached to a front portion of the neckline.

Abstract: In protective coveralls with a head covering with a transparent permanent lens over the face area, a separate removable lens cover attached over the permanent lens which is adapted for very rapid removal in situations when the lens cover is clouded by a foreign material.
