Abstract: A weighted blanket, comprising: a lower layer of blanket material; a perforated layer having a plurality of similarly shaped and sized apertures, each aperture defining a cell, the perforated layer being disposed above the lower layer; a plurality of beads distributed over the lower layer; an upper layer of blanket material disposed above the lower layer of blanket material, such that the lower level and the upper level sandwich the perforated layer and the bead. The lower layer, the upper layer, and the perforated layer are sewn together in a sewing pattern that divides the weighted blanket into a plurality of substantially equal sections, such that beads in any of the sections are prevented from crossing into any other one of the sections.

Abstract: Articles of clothing which include an outerwear garment combined with an intermediate garment are provided. Such articles include a jacket combined with a vest, a coat or overgarment combined with a jacket, or a coat or overgarment combined with a vest. Such articles of clothing can include an outerwear and an intermediate garment, wherein the outwear and the intermediate garment include respective shoulders, wherein the outwear outerwear and the intermediate garment may be joined at the shoulders by connecting members.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a jacket/coat designed to provide an enhanced range of motion and airflow between the inside and outside of the jacket. This is accomplished by having a layered construction comprising different fabric/textile materials where the enhanced range of motion and airflow are desired. The jacket/coat in accordance with the present invention particularly provides an enhanced range of motion for a wearer around the shoulders and arms. This enhanced range of motion may be especially beneficial when the wearer is engaged in a physically demanding activity or any activity benefiting from a wide range of movement by the wearer's arms and shoulders.

Abstract: Articles of clothing which include outwear combined with an intermediate garment are provided. Abstract: A combination of a vest and a versatile, adaptable bag allows a person to comfortably carry articles, even while physically active. The vest is contoured to the shape of a person's body, limiting the jostling of the vest and integrally attached bag as the person moves. One advantageous feature of the convertible bag is that its size can adapt to the desired contents: the upper portion of the bag acts either as a flap for the lower portion, or as a vertical extension of the lower portion when the bag contents are more voluminous. Further, the vest portion sits high on the chest of the person wearing the vest. This increases comfort to the person by distributing the weight better, and reduces sweating, particularly during physical activity such as riding a bicycle.

Abstract: An exercise garment is formed of a pair of shorts and an accompanying vest which are worn by an exerciser to enhance strength, conditioning, power, endurance and agility. The shorts include a pelvic portion with a pair of leg sections depending therefrom. Each leg section terminates at a leg opening having a circumferential zipper strand adjacent thereto. Immediately above the zipper strand are a plurality of juxtaposed, segregated pockets for receiving a weighted bar. A leg extension having multiple weight pockets includes a peripheral zipper strand at an upper end for mating engagement with the zipper strand of either leg section allowing the effective length thereof to be increased. The accompanying vest is formed of a torso portion with a pair of separable sleeves extending therefrom. A plurality of weight pockets are positioned on the front and rear of the torso portion and each sleeve. A torso extension having multiple weight pockets is removably attachable to the lower edge of the torso portion.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to faux blouses or shirts that are worn underneath a jacket, blazer, or other outer garment that are cool and comfortable for the wearer, that resemble a traditional blouse or shirt and provide the same decorative aspects as a traditional shirt, and that remain securely in place on the wearer when in use. Generally, embodiments of the presently-disclosed garment include a substantially-flat neckline portion that lays against a wearer's chest and encircles the wearer's neckline. Extending from the flat neckline portion around an inside edge of the neckline portion is a decorative element that resembles a traditional blouse or shirt collar, ruffle, lapel, etc. Aspects of the present garment also generally include a waist strap that is affixed to a lower end of the flat neckline portion and encircles a wearer's waist to assist in keeping the garment in place when in use.

Abstract: A safety vest for use with a safety harness, which includes first and second shoulder straps connected with a connector in an overlapping, crisscrossing relationship proximate a juncture. The first and second shoulder straps form an opening therebetween and below the connector. The vest includes an outer lining and an inner lining, and the first and second shoulder straps are at least partially positioned between the outer and inner linings. The inner lining extends from proximate an upper portion of the outer lining to proximate an intermediate portion of the outer lining. The inner lining includes a releasable connector configured and arranged to extend through the opening and releasably connect to the outer lining, wherein the releasable connector is disconnected and the inner lining is moved away from portions of the first and second shoulder straps to allow for inspection of the first and second shoulder straps.

Abstract: A convertible shirt having a sleeveless base and a sleeved half-shirt configured to couple to the sleeveless base is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a convertible shirt includes a sleeveless base, a sleeved half shirt configured to couple inconspicuously to the sleeveless base, and a multiplicity of fasteners to couple to the sleeved half shirt to the sleeveless base. In at least one alternative embodiment a two-piece convertible Western shirt includes a sleeveless base, the sleeveless base having a flared, pointed collar, a button-up front, and at least a pair of pockets on a front side of the sleeveless base, a sleeved half shirt configured to couple inconspicuously to the sleeveless base, the sleeved half shirt having a Western adornment, and a multiplicity of fasteners configured to couple to the sleeved half shirt to the sleeveless base.

Abstract: A uniform-type chef suit garment that appears to have physically separate jacket and pants but that includes an upper torso jacket and liner which is attached to the pants to optimize comfort by eliminating a fitted waist, while improving serviceability during cleaning of the garment. The garment includes various means that enable the wearer to don and remove the chef suit. In various embodiments, the pants are further adapted to be adjustable in length or to have a length limiting feature to prevent undesirable wear and soiling of the cuffs. In various preferred configurations, the jacket may preferably also incorporate a jacket taper adjustment feature as well as various implement holding elements that can be adapted to retain towels, gloves, cooking utensils, and other implements. In various alternative modifications, reversible breast lapels are incorporated into the garment to prolong clean and professional appearance and serviceability in operational food service environments.

Abstract: A high-visibility covering is removably attached to a firefighter turnout coat at the shoulders and front closure by easily separable fasteners so that the assemblage can be donned as a single coat and the high-visibility covering can be easily ripped off. In one embodiment, the covering is a single panel that wraps around the coat, extending from the shoulders to the waist or hips. In another embodiment, the covering is composed of three panels, two front panels and a back panel. Front shoulder straps on the covering are removably attached to the front of the turnout coat at the shoulders. Back shoulder straps on the panel overlap and are removably attached to the corresponding front shoulder straps. In the three panel embodiment, the back panel has a pair of lappets that overlap and are removably attached to the corresponding front panel.

Abstract: A weighted article for providing deep pressure therapy includes a plurality of patchwork pieces including a plurality of layers. At least some of the patchwork pieces include a filler of weighted material contained between at least two of the plurality of layers. The plurality of patchwork pieces are fastened together at edges.

Abstract: A garment having a jacket and a removable vest is provided. The vest includes first and second front vest panels, each having proximal and distal side edges, with each distal side edge being joined to a respective side edge of a rear vest panel. A pair of openings to be called armholes are formed through the vest. The jacket includes first and second front jacket panels, each having proximal and distal side edges, with each distal side edge being joined to a respective side edge of a rear jacket panel. A pair of sleeves are joined to the jacket such that the vest may be worn over the jacket, with the pair of sleeves projecting through the pair of openings.

Abstract: An article of clothing includes a waterproof inner fabric layer and an outer fabric layer. An outer opening is defined in the outer fabric layer and is selectively opened and closed by a standard zipper. A portion of the inner fabric layer extends between the edges of the outer opening and defines an inner opening. The inner opening is selectively opened and closed by a water-resistant zipper. Venting material extends between the edges of the inner opening and allows air to flow through the inner opening when both the inner and outer openings are opened.

Abstract: A load bearing vest for use by military and police personnel includes a right front panel, a left front panel and a rear panel, each being formed of a durable, abrasion resistant material. Right and left shoulder straps, also formed of durable abrasion resistant material, connect an upper portion of the rear panel with upper portions of the right front panel and left front panel respectively. Expandable right and left side panels formed of elastic material with a high strain capacity, connect the rear panel with the right front panel and the left front panel respectively below the shoulder strap to define right and left arm openings respectively therebetween. The side panels extend downward to the end of the front and rear panels. An expandable front closure connects the right front panel with the left front panel. A floating center panel is connected to the front closure in such a manner that the front closure remains elastically expandable independent of the floating panel.

Abstract: An upper torso restraining device is disclosed for maintaining an individual in a seated position in a chair or similar by providing attachment and support of the upper torso. An external upper body garment with appearance similar to ordinary clothing is provided with side slits. An interior vest having straps extending from front crossover and crossunder portions is attached to the upper body garment along the upper edges of the interior vest. Straps from the crossunder portion pass through one side of the interior vest through interior slits and straps from the crossover portion pass through external loops located on the opposing side of the interior vest. The straps then pass through the side slits, and may be secured together behind an individual wearing the interior vest and upper body garment.

Abstract: An arrangement for supporting a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) on a firefighter's turnout coat includes a vest-type garment composed of a back panel and shoulder and waist straps attached to respective upper and lower portions of the back panel. Releasable coupling devices are connected to the ends of the shoulder and waist straps for detachably connecting the respective ends together to tightly secure the vest-type garment on the wearer. The back panel of the garment can be secured to either the inside or the outside of the back of an outer protective shell of the coat. The shoulder and waist straps of the vest-type garment are located internally of an inner liner of the coat by extending from the back panel of the vest-type garment through slots in the inner liner. The SCBA supporting arrangement also includes an elongated flexible pouch mounted in the center of the exterior of the back of the outer shell of the coat for holding an air bottle of the SCBA.

Abstract: A ballistic panel carrier vest with front and rear ballistic panel carrying pockets and a trauma plate pocket has front, rear and side portions, as well as epaulets, breast pockets with flap closures and buttoned placket front opening that look like the same elements of an underlying shirt so that the fact of wearing the vest is concealed. The vest is made from a shirt of the type over which it will be worn by cutting off the collar and sleeves, and either cutting the shirt tail off at the waist or folding it under. Loose edges of epaulets, breast pocket flaps and placket are sewn down.

Abstract: A combination garment and purse worn by a person as an article of clothing is adapted for carrying articles normally carried in a purse, handbag or briefcase and includes a garment of flexible sheet material having a back panel and a pair of side and frontal panels joined therewith. A fastener is provided for detachably securing confronting edges of the frontal panel when the garment is worn closed at the front. First pockets are provided accessible from inside of the garment for carrying articles and second pockets accessible from outside the garment are also provided for carrying articles. A resilient yoke is secured to the inside of the garment and includes a central neck segment extending across the back of a person at an upper level and a pair of forwardly extending shoulder segments joining the neck segment at opposite ends.

Abstract: An improved coat that has large sleeves and an oversized girth whereby the wearer of the coat may carry a child under the coat on either the wearer's front or back. An adjustable length belt blacks the passage of air into the coat, prevents articles stored in the sleeves under the coat from falling out, and pulls the fullness of the coat into the wearer so that coat may be worn by a single person. A deployable front hood is provided to protect the child when carried in the front. A deployable hood in the back of the coat provides protection to child and wearer when child is carried in the back. A baby carrier is provided that adequately accommodates a child from birth, through all growth stages, to as long as the parent wishes to carry the child. A vest worn in conjunction with coat is provided to protect wearer's shoulders against cold.

Abstract: A recoil protection system is disclosed which includes a fabric yoke. A leather panel is stitched to the yoke with a foam pad confined in the volume between the leather panel and the yoke. The foam pad is sized with its rest volume somewhat larger than the volume defined by the leather panel and the yoke such that the foam pad is in a constant state of compression. The foam pad is formed of a material having a high Loss Factor, and the yoke is held in place on the shoulder of the user by means of a harness which includes first and second straps, each of which passes under a respective arm of the user. Preferred materials for exceptionally effective foam pads are disclosed.

Abstract: A jumper which is convertible to a thick type or thin type jumper by detachably attaching a liner therein. Said jumper having a front and back panels and a pair of sleeves extending from the panel, which comprises: a right side constituting an outer face of the front and back panels and sleeves; a lining constituting an inner face of the front and back panels and sleeves, said lining being stitched to the right side at its peripheral edge of the panel so as to form a space between the right side and the lining, said lining having, at the back panel, a slit which communicates to the space; and a liner detachably attached in the space through the slit. The liner can be stably fixed in position in the space by a plurality of snap fasteners and loops provided at cuffs of the liner. Said jumper is excellent in the cold-proof and the water-proof.

Abstract: A strap retained shoulder protection device for absorbing loads directed to a user's shoulder area by reason of rifle or similiar firearm recoil. The device includes a shoulder protection pad and a strap assembly which cooperates with the pad to form a shoulder harness for locating and retaining the pad in its proper operative position upon the user's shoulder area. The strap assembly is adjustable to facilitate use of the device by different users. The protection pad may be provided with various amounts or load absorbent material according to the desires of the user.
