Abstract: A test device for a plug-in connection is configured to detect one or more of moisture and liquid in at least one protective chamber of the plug-in connection. The plug-in connection has a first plug part and a second plug part each with a plurality of electrically conductive contact elements. The first and second plug parts are configured to be plugged together such that at least some of the contact elements of the first plug part come into electrical contact with at least some contact elements of the second plug part. The first and second plug parts, when in the plugged-together state, form the at least one protective chamber, which is configured for the contact elements. In one embodiment, the plug-in connection is associated with a control unit of a steering system for a motor vehicle.

Abstract: An inertia switch includes a stack of a base plate and a base cover. The base plate provided inside a liquid storage chamber and a sensing chamber communicating with a liquid storage chamber. The liquid storage chamber contains working fluid, and the sensing chamber equipped with a sensing electrode extending to and connected to an external equipment that tend to interact with the inertia switch. The electricity-conductive liquid is utilized as a medium for inertia detection. Furthermore, by the width, depth and angle of the flow channel design, when the liquid material flows into the sensing chamber through the channel after a time delay, a sensing signal is obtained by the sensing electrodes through a change of a resistance value or a capacitance value to actuate the switch. The inertia switch has a simple structure and is low cost.

Abstract: A toothbrush can include a handle and a head. At least one bristle can be attached to the head. The toothbrush can also have an illumination member, an illumination circuit and an activation device. The activation device can include two contact members fixed in a non-contact position on an outside of the handle. A method can include causing conduction between the contact members to activate the illumination circuit. The toothbrush can be an electric toothbrush. The electric toothbrush can have an illumination member positioned such that light from the illumination member can be seen by a user in a mirror facing the user.

Abstract: A lighted switch device includes one rotary knob (first operating knob); first to fourth push knobs (second operating knobs); a case; a switch element and a light-emitting diode (light source), which are accommodated in the case; and an annular light conductor for transmitting exiting light from the light-emitting diode to the outer peripheral portion of the rotary knob. Plate-shaped light-shielding members are disposed at the first and third push knobs, and recesses for inserting ends of the light-shielding members are formed in portions of the second and fourth push knobs opposing their respective light-shielding members.

Abstract: A switch device and a method of manufacture are provided that includes providing two substrates. The two substrates collectively include a fluid conductor switch device structure and a trench surrounding the fluid conductor switch device structure. An inner seal material is deposed on one of the substrates and an outer seal material is deposited in the trench. The substrates are joined to one another using the inner seal material and a peripheral hermetic seal is formed between the substrates using the outer seal material.

Abstract: A bathtub toy has a battery, timing circuit and an audible or visible output. A motion responsive switch closes to connect the battery to the output and start the timing circuit. The timing circuit shuts off the output after an interval until the switch again closes after the interval.

Abstract: A system and method for illuminating an area proximate a trailer, such as a boat or snowmobile trailer. At least one area illuminating light is connected to an area illuminating lighting control member. The area illuminating lighting control member receives and interprets trailer lighting control signals for determining when to activate and deactivate the area illuminating light. Control signals include is a trailer tow vehicle "lights on" condition combined with a second trailer lighting control signal, such as a "reverse lights on" indication, or indications from a water sensor or manual switch. The area illuminating lighting control member also receives a set of trailer lighting control signals for automatically deactivating the trailer illuminating lighting, including a "running light off" indication, a "brake lights on" indication, and/or a "turn signal lights on" indication.

Abstract: An under hood and luggage compartment lamp assembly which is adapted to be positioned on a hood or luggage compartment of a vehicle. The lamp assembly comprises a plastic body which has, at one end, a first set of spaced terminals the outer ends of which extend parallel for connection to a plug of a wiring harness and at the other end of a second set of spaced terminals, the outer ends of which are shaped for receiving a wedge based lamp. The inner end of the other of the first set of terminals is bent and resiliently engages the spherical contact of a mercury switch and the inner end of one of the second set of terminals is bent and engages the button contact of the mercury switch. The inner end of the first set of terminals directly engages the inner end of the other of the second set of terminals. The body is provided with projections and recesses for locating the terminals such that they can be dropped in place during assembly. A cover closes the body and mechanically locked to the body.

Abstract: A trunk lid lamp assembly comprising a housing having a first generally tubular part having open ends and a second generally tubular part having a closed end wall with interengaging means which provide a snap fit between said parts. The first part has an axially extending slot into which an offset portion of a bracket extends. The bracket has an L-shaped bayonet slot therein which is exposed to the interior of the first part whereby it may receive the lug of a lamp bulb and hold the bulb in position in the first part. The second part has a portion engaging the bracket to hold the bracket in position in the slot of the first part. The second part also has an axially extending opening in the end wall thereof adjacent the periphery thereof and a terminal extends into the opening and is frictionally held in position. The terminal has a first contact portion.
