  • Patent number: 9634661
Abstract: An optical switch keyboard includes a circuit module and plural keys. The circuit module includes a circuit board, plural light emitters, plural light receivers and plural light sources. Each key corresponds to a light emitter, a light receiver and a light source. The plural light emitters and the plural light receivers are disposed under the circuit board. Consequently, the plural light emitters and the plural light receivers are not interfered by the ambient light that comes from the top side of the circuit board. In case that the light sources are disposed over the circuit board, the light beams from the light sources are transmitted upwardly through light-transmissible triggering elements of the corresponding keys and projected to the keycaps. Consequently, a visual effect is generated.

  • Patent number: 8207462
Abstract: A key structure having an improved light emitting efficiency is provided. The key structure includes a light guide plate, an isolation sheet, a circuit board, an elastic member, and a key cap sequentially disposed one on another in order. A circuit and a plurality of first electrical contacts are distributed on a top surface of the light guide plate. An optical structure is disposed at a bottom surface of the light guide plate. The isolation sheet has a light reflective surface facing the light guide plate. A light source emits a light into the light guide plate. The light is reflected by the optical structure to pass through the through holes configured at the isolation sheet, thus allowing more light outputting through the through holes, so as to improve the illumination of the key cap, and improve the light emitting efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7283066
Abstract: A keyboard is provided having illuminating keys. The keyboard includes a light channeling upper clamshell and preferably key members constructed at least partially of translucent material so that light produced from a light source is channeled upwardly to the upper surfaces of the key members. The light source may include LED or LEC systems in adjoining relationship to the light channeling membrane or light pipe. In a preferred embodiment, the light source is constructed of a substantially planar illuminescent sheet which underlies the light channeling membrane. In an alternative preferred embodiment, a light pipe is constructed to illuminate light laterally along a portion of its length to illuminate a plurality of key members. In still additional preferred embodiments, the keyboard space bar includes a luminescent line or decorative design for indicating the space bar's function and position.

  • Patent number: 5931289
Abstract: A circuit breaker includes a releasable retaining mechanism for releasably retaining a movable contact arm of the circuit breaker to prevent "sneak" during movement of the contact arm to the closed position, as well as, to prevent "bounce" during movement of the contact arm to the open position. The releasable retaining mechanism preferably includes a hook member rigidly secured to the movable contact arm and a retaining spring secured to the operating mechanism of the circuit breaker. The hook member engages the retaining spring when the movable contact arm is in the open position. The releasable retaining mechanism further includes a release finger extending from the operating mechanism adjacent the retaining spring, the release finger being positioned to contact the retaining spring when an operating handle of the circuit breaker is moved to actuate the operating mechanism in order to place the movable contact arm in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5012053
Abstract: A contact structure of a switching device having a pivoted movable contact arm for reducing contact chatter, i.e., bounce, at the instant of closing or separation is given. Such chatter is mainly caused by clearances existing around pivots of the movable contact arm and operating mechanisms. A contact spring for applying a contact pressure when the switch is closed is provided between a portion of the movable contact arm at the other side of a contact in relation to the pivot of the movable contact and a stationary portion of the switching device. Also, a stopper is provided on a contact arm support member engagable with the contact arm at a side of the contact. With structure the movable contact arm and operating mechanisms are perfectly biased by the contact spring always in one direction and prevents free movement of the movable contact arm.
