    Abstract: The fuse bypass jumper of the present invention bridges the upper and lower fuse terminals of a high-voltage transmission line cut-out box so as to bypass the fuse element. The jumper comprises lateral upper and lower arms connected by a longitudinal jumper bar. The jumper arms and bar are made of a heavy gauge conductor rated for at least 100 Amps. With the jumper in place, the fuse element can be opened, removed and/or replaced without interrupting the transmission line circuit through the cut-off box, since the jumper now provides a bypass around the fuse. Since the bypass conductive path constitutes a heavy gauge, high-amperage bar conductor, this jumper can carry a much larger current load than flexible wire-based jumpers.

The energy-storage mechanism is formed by axially acting compression springs (8) and acts on a driver ring (6) exhibiting slopes in the peripheral direction which interacts with another driver ring (13), couplable with the operating shaft, exhibiting a corresponding counterprofile with slopes. A coupling for dragged slaving (28, 29) is provided between the two driver rings (6, 13). Handle-side driver ring (6) carries stops (11) on its front facing away from these slopes, which interact with counterstops (12), integral with the housing, when they reach the snap position of the locking mechanism.

A solenoid (148) within the accessory module is disposed to rotate the rotor when energized, this rotation being coupled to trip the breaker to provide for remote tripping. Since the trip lever is carried with the breaker blade, the blade position is monitored by the switch.
