Patent number: 7595458Abstract: An enclosure has an edge for defining a window opening. A keyboard is set in the window opening. A support member attached to the enclosure from the inside of the enclosure to receive the edge of the enclosure and the keyboard. A wall stands upright from the surface of the support member at a position outside the window opening. When coffee is spilled on the keyboard, the liquid flows into a space between the keyboard and the window opening. The surface tension of the liquid serves to prevent the liquid from immediately leaking outside the window opening through the gap between the edge and the support member. The liquid then starts leaking outside the window opening through the gap. The wall of the support member blocks the liquid. It thus takes a while before the liquid flows over the wall.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2008Date of Patent: September 29, 2009Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Masahiko Hattori, Masuo Ohnishi, Yuji Aoyama

Patent number: 7479868Abstract: A trip-free manual reset thermostat includes a first fixed contact and a second fixed contact for an electric circuit and a bridging contact having a first end and a second end in contact with the first and second fixed contacts, respectively, in a normally closed position. The bridging contact is tripped open and is not in contact with the first and second fixed contacts at a predetermined higher temperature. When a pushbutton is in a depressed position, the bridging contact is pressed toward the fixed contacts and the second end of the bridging contact is caused to pivot around the first end of the bridging contact. The thermostat does not require a narrow manufacturing and assembly tolerance to achieve a trip-free function and has a simpler structure and is easy to manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2005Date of Patent: January 20, 2009Assignee: Therm-O-Disc, IncorporatedInventor: Derek Rose

Publication number: 20090014304Abstract: A thin-film-like key sheet covering pushbutton switches is equipped with a plurality of key tops constituting operating pushbuttons, and a film-like base sheet on an upper surface of which the key tops are placed, in which a depression load is small, and no interference with the adjacent key tops and a frame sheet occurs when depressing the key tops, thus avoiding undulating movement of those components. There is further provided a film-like shape maintaining sheet covering a lower surface of a base sheet and stacked on the base sheet, and the shape maintaining sheet has, at dividing positions between the adjacent key tops, insulating slits insulating a stress generated along a surface of the shape maintaining sheet when the key tops are depressed. Thus, the key tops do not easily rise or become shaky at a time of depressing operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2008Publication date: January 15, 2009Applicant: Polymatech Co., Ltd.Inventor: Fumitaka Arai

Patent number: 7470868Abstract: A switch with light emitting function is provided. The switch is disposed on a circuit board for starting a device, and includes a case, a button, a light emitting diode (LED) and a number of pins. The button is protruded from the case. The LED is disposed inside the case, and has a positive end and a negative end. The pins are connected to a first electrical contact, a second electrical contact, a third electrical contact and the negative end of the LED, respectively. The positive end of the LED is electrically connected to the fourth electrical contact. When the button is pressed, the first electrical contact and the second electrical contact are shorted to start the device. Meanwhile, the third electrical contact and the fourth electrical contact are shorted, so that the LED is turned on to emit a light. No extra space is needed for disposing the LED.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2007Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: Qisda CorporationInventors: Shih-An Lin, Chi-Pao Huang

Patent number: 7465889Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a pushbutton switch cover sheet providing a unique design. A pushbutton switch cover sheet is provided with an operation plate of metal or hard resin having dividing grooves defining depressing operation members capable of displacement through depression. Therefore, there is no need to provide the casing of the apparatus with a frame defining key tops, making it possible to impart a novel design to the apparatus. The operation plate is formed as a thin plate, so it is possible to reduce a thickness of the apparatus as a whole. Further, the dividing grooves are provided with in-groove protrusions protruding into the dividing grooves and groove filling members fixed to the groove inner side surfaces and formed of a rubber-like elastic material, thereby making it possible to provide a pushbutton switch cover sheet of a high level of safety in which there is no fear of fingers being injured by the dividing grooves.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2006Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: Polymatech Co., Ltd.Inventors: Daisuke Nakajima, Junko Hosaka
