Abstract: An electrical switch construction having an electrical switch provided with different operating conditions, the construction having a timer moved actuator operatively associated with the switch for causing the switch to be repetitively in one condition thereof a certain percentage of a certain increment of time and in another condition thereof for the remainder of the certain increment of time. The actuator is adapted for selecting the amount of the certain percentage of the certain increment of time within certain limits.
Abstract: The timer mechanism for use in a clock has a rotatable minute setting drum and a rotatable hour setting drum coaxial therewith each manually settable to a selected position to set a set time in terms of minute and hour, respectively. A first, a second and a third stationary contact member are arranged in the space between the minute and the hour setting drum for cooperating with switch contacts of first and second rotatable contact members so as to constitute together with the latter members a switch for the timer mechanism for actuating an electric device or an electrically operable warning device of the clock at a set time set by the minute and the hour setting drum.
Abstract: A switch articulating device in combination with a modified conventional timer, the device including a bistable auxiliary switch lever connected to a switch engaging shuttle bracket, the switch lever and the bracket being retained in a housing adapted for installation over a wall switch. The conventional mechanical timer is mounted on the exterior of the housing and is modified to provide a timer shaft attached to a cam and extending into the interior of the housing. The cam is aligned to oppose one end of rocker arm, which at the other end articulates, through a push plate, a bellcrank attached to the switch lever. In this manner the switch lever can be either articulated by the timer or can be manually controlled to operate the circuit.
Abstract: A standard thermostat control unit, such as used in residential heating systems, is modified to include a manually actuated, electro-mechanical timer that includes a switch connected across the unit's thermostatically operated contacts, such that actuation of the timer produces a temporary, self-expiring, operating mode in which the normal thermostatic regulation of the furnace is overridden and the furnace is held "on" for the brief duration of the timer interval. The modified unit may be used in lieu of the standard unit as an energy and cost saving device in places such as in a vacant house, waiting to be sold or rented, with the unit preset at a minimum, thermostatically regulated temperature level.
Abstract: This is an actuating device to be attached to a wall-mounted switch plate for actuating a light switch in a room or other place at a pre-determined time interval and/or for deactivating such light switch or a combination of the two. The device is particularly characterized and it may mount onto the wall place and does not require disconnection thereof from the wall or alternatively may replace the wall plate. It is further characterized by a simple, manual, override switch.
Abstract: An electrical switch timer device is used to turn off an electrical light, wherein the light switch timer device communicates with a conventional wall toggle switch. The electrical timing device comprises an electrical circuit consisting of a combination of a toggle switch wired in series to a parallel circuit of an electrical timer clock motor and an electrical light, wherein the combination is wired in parallel to a series circuit of a timer clock switch and an electromagnet. The electromagnet communicates with the toggle switch.
Abstract: A time switch mechanism for automatically as well as manually operating a switch incorporated therein for the purpose of controlling the operation of a device such as a television or a radio, as well as a sleep timer. The time switch mechanism comprises a timing cam, a time setting member, a normally closed microswitch for operating the television or radio, a switch lever for operating the microswitch and cooperable with the timing cam and a switching cam, wherein the switching cam is operably secured to a sector gear which is rotatable at a predetermined speed.
