Twenty-four-hour Cycle Patents (Class 200/38DA)
  • Patent number: 5329082
Abstract: An electric controller for selectively activating a plurality of solenoid water valves in a irrigation system and on a pre-selected recurrent time basis. The controller features a molded chassis and a printed circuit board construction to provide a more rugged and simplified unit as compared with the prior art controllers of the same general type.

  • Patent number: 4823329
Abstract: In the electric timer having an analog time display and a disk-or ring-shaped program carrier programmable by means of slide contacts, the program carrier is settable selectively by means of a switching device to different synchronous speeds of rotation, namely one revolution per week or one revolution per day. To this end two drive rings concentric with the axis of rotation of the program carrier are provided, of which one revolves at a speed of one revolution per day and the other at one revolution per week. The program carrier can be coupled selectively with one of the two drive rings by means of a coupling member adjustable to radii of different size on the same radius vector. While the drive ring revolving at the slow speed can be coupled with the program carrier in seven different angular positions, for the drive ring which revolves once a day only a single angular position exists in which it can be coupled with the program carrier.

  • Patent number: 4503295
Abstract: A sprinkler controller includes a station timing dial having a front and back plate with an intermediate plate positioned therebetween. A plurality of switch plates having a tripper arm attached thereto are positioned around the periphery of the dial with each switch plate positioned between the front and back plates. Adjacent switch plates are positioned on opposite sides of the intermediate plates for movement circumferentially about the dial. The switch plates move such that one plate overlies an adjacent plate, thereby permitting the reduction in size of the station timing dial. The controller includes a clock and calendar dial using a plurality of sliders having a toggle portion and a cam portion. The toggle portion and cam portion are connected by a flexible arm which permits the movement of the toggle portion toward the cam portion to facilitate sliding of the slider switches relative to the clock and calendar dials. The sliders engage control switches for operating the controller.

  • Patent number: 4367416
Abstract: A random timer including a reversible electric drive motor, an output means, and a power circuit connecting a power supply to the drive motor and output means and where two dissimilar cam type timing elements are controlled by the drive motor to provide irregular non-continuous operative phases of output energy, and the power circuit of the motor includes a switch which is opened temporarily by each power phase actuation of the timing elements to provide an opportunity for the drive motor to reverse and change the timer cycle.

  • Patent number: 4297546
Abstract: Switch actuating mechanism for use in a timing device. The mechanism is simple, easy to manufacture, and is reliable in operation. The mechanism is selectively adjustable to maintain the switch continuously ON, continuously OFF, or ON and OFF in response to time setting pins on a rotating time dial.

  • Patent number: 4209675
Abstract: A variable duration clock timer unit which may be adjustably set to energize an electrical circuit for a selected duration for each period of clock operation includes a momentary contact, normally open, switch frictionally mounted at a selected location in a concentric annular groove in a circular clock face below a rotatable clock arm driven by an electric clock motor. The clock arm is adjustable in length and has a free end in the shape of a triangle overlying the annular groove. The switch actuator may be depressed by engagement with the free end of the clock arm to close the switch for the period of time that the free end is in engagement with the switch actuator. Adjustment of the length of the clock arm changes the width of the free end portion of the clock arm engageable with the switch actuator and thus determines the duration of switch closing. The timer unit may be used to automatically control the operation of an electric defrosting circuit of a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4123628
Abstract: The timing apparatus includes timer motor means having a rotatable output shaft rotatable through a revolution in a prescribed period of time, switching means adapted to be alternately switched between at least two discrete positions for respectively operating corresponding electrical output devices, indicating means operatively connected to the output shaft for movement in unison with the output shaft and for selective independent movement with respect to the output shaft in response to manual adjustment for adjustably setting the times at which the switching means will be operated to effect such switching between the electrical output devices, and actuating means operatively connected to the switching means and adapted for periodic movement between opposed first and second positions in response to displacement of the indicating means.

  • Patent number: 4029918
Abstract: A timing device has a day dial and a time dial which rotate to control an electrical output in a programmed manner for a predetermined day period. The time dial and day dial operate a pivotally mounted lever to actuate a switch which is connected between electrical input and output, or load, connectors. The time dial operatively contacts one end of the lever and the day dial operatively contacts the other end of the lever when the dials have been preset to do so by the use of actuating pins which can be positioned in the dials. When both ends of the lever are contacted, the switch is actuated. The pins can be held in their respective time dial or day dial in an operative or inoperative position. Manual means are also provided to bypass the time dial and day dial by directly connecting the input connectors to the output, or load, connectors.
