Patent number: 5828018Abstract: A light switch cover plate with a mechanical timer mechanism that includes a linear rack member for engaging the existing light switch actuator and that includes a cover plate member defining a timer mechanism cavity wherein the linear rack member is slidably installed within the timer mechanism cavity and guided along a predetermined path between a fully upward position and a fully downward position by an upper rack guide and a left and right lower rack guide, the linear rack member being biased toward the fully downward position by a helical spring attached between the linear rack member and the cover plate member, the linear rack having gear teeth formed along a side edge thereof in meshing relationship with a spring loaded mechanical drive mechanism including a spring drive assembly, a spring drive gear, a reduction gear assembly and an anchor escapement gear, the spring loaded mechanical drive mechanism providing a resistance against movement of the linear rack toward the fully downward position under thType: GrantFiled: March 26, 1997Date of Patent: October 27, 1998Inventor: Edward M. Patent number: 4647733Abstract: A shaft position indicator in which the mechanical position of switch actuation is variable with the control of the switch actuators. The switch actuators are controllable through a series of setable cam operated screws or non-mechanical contacts that intercept the switch actuators as they are moved from one position to another, the movement of the cam operated screws overlapping the travel of the switches during one revolution of a lead screw moving the cam operated screws. The input shaft rotation is field adjustable to accept input rotations from 1 to 25 or more revolutions, resulting in accuation of the switch in output performance.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1985Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Assignee: Proximity Controls, Inc.Inventor: John F. Patent number: 4524252Abstract: A motor-driven electric timer consists of a motor, a reduction gear assembly for reducing a rotational speed from the motor to a predetermined speed, an externally actuatable slider having at one side wall thereof a rack, a clutch mechanism consisting of a pinion gear driven by the reduction gear assembly for driving the rack and a spring wire disengageably biasing the pinion gear for engagement with the rack, a switching lever member following a side wall of the slider, a contact member actuated by the switching lever member, and a flat-shaped housing enclosing the timer.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1982Date of Patent: June 18, 1985Assignee: Omron Tateisi Electronics Co.Inventors: Tetuji Okazaki, Kanji Kawasaki, Masayoshi Hirose

Patent number: 4410774Abstract: A timer has a single knob which is normally used to set a desired timing cycle within a given range and also, when pulled out, to set a selected one of a plurality of ranges. When the knob is pulled out, projections formed on the control shaft engage a concentrically-mounted rotatable disc having at least one set of peripheral teeth. These teeth engage a flexible plastic detent formed in the front of the plastic housing of the timer. The rotatable disc is coupled to a reciprocating slider having conductive fingers which engage predetermined pairs of conductive contacts on a circuit board. As the disc rotates and the slider fingers touch different pairs of contacts, different circuit components are actuated thereby changing the range. In one variation of the timer, means are provided for changing the visible decimal point on the dial to correspond to the range selected.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1982Date of Patent: October 18, 1983Assignee: American Manufacturing Company, Inc.Inventors: Grover K. Patent number: 4149046Abstract: A control mechanism for a sequential timer is disclosed. The mechanism includes an axially movable timer shaft which is associated with a timer shaft extension or control knob in such a way that initial movement of the control knob to select a particular position on the timing cycle will axially move the timer shaft to open a circuit in the timer. The open circuit prevents arcing of switch contacts and short pulsing of current through solenoids and motors.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1977Date of Patent: April 10, 1979Assignee: The Scott & Fetzer CompanyInventor: Donald E. Patent number: 4112265Abstract: A rotatable cam limit switch with a switch operating cam mounted directly on a continuously rotating drive shaft and axially shiftable relative to the shaft. The drive shaft is also provided with a "fast thread" for adjustable axial positioning of a timing element in slidable engagement with the cam. Manual axially adjustable yoke elements respectively engage the cam and timing element for establishing preselected switch dwell time and phase relationship between said switch and said shaft.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1977Date of Patent: September 5, 1978Assignee: Allen-Bradley CompanyInventors: Robert G.
