Patent number: 5464953Abstract: A timing apparatus including a timer, a solenoid, a toggle switch, and an adapter plate for mounting to the valve control knob of a pizza oven, the adapter plate being provided with a detent at a given point on the periphery thereof. The knob is spring biased in a rotational direction toward the "on" position on the knob. An electrical timer is provided to energize a solenoid at a preset time duration, with the solenoid rod being physically coupled to a pivotable actuating arm, the free end of which is positioned for engagement with the detent of the knob with the knob in the "off" position, the plate being retained at that position against the force of the coil spring. A toggle switch is in electrical circuit relation with the timer, with the toggle thereof physically positioned in operative relation a member projecting from the actuating arm, such that actuation of the toggle from a first position to the second under force of the projection deenergizes the circuit between the timer and the solenoid.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1993Date of Patent: November 7, 1995Inventor: Chang E. Patent number: 4355217Abstract: An electromechanical timer arrangement includes a rotatable cam having a cam surface for actuating an associated switch. An inhibit member is movable between an active position and an idle position. In its active position, the member engages the switch and prevents cam actuation of the switch. In its idle position, the member permits normal cam actuation of the switch. In controlling a dishwasher the active and idle positions are user-selected non-heated and heated drying cycles and the switch controls energization of the heater. The cam surface is contoured to close the switch for heated drying. Moving the member to its active position opens the switch, regardless of the cam position, for non-heated drying.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1981Date of Patent: October 19, 1982Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Donald S. Patent number: 4242547Abstract: A periodical switching device has adjustable periodic ON durations and has rapid on, off transitions. A swinging member rides on a rotating cam. An operation member controlled by the cam and by the swinging member turns a switch on when the cam moves the operation member and turns the switch off when the cam moves the swinging member to release the operation member. An adjusting member changes position of the swinging member to vary its point and time of initial contact with the cam to selectively control release of the operation member which turns OFF the switch. A feeding device advances the adjusting means to 100 percent conduction when the adjusting device is moved to select about 83 percent or more conduction. An old setting-clearing device moves the operation member relatively to the swinging member so that the members follow the newly set durations immediately upon beginning new cycles.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1978Date of Patent: December 30, 1980Assignee: Iida Sankyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kazuo Hashimoto

Patent number: 3950624Abstract: A multiple switch automatic reset timer in which the switches are located in the back of the timer and have operators angularly spaced about a main bearing axis. A clutch operator is also angularly spaced from the switch operators. A spring return timing gear on the main bearing axis drives a spring tensioner also carried on the main bearing axis. This stores power in the spring which is released at the timed-out point for driving a cam wheel carried on the main bearing axis. This actuates the switch operators and also releases the clutch allowing the timing gear to reset. The cam wheel is maintained in the timed-out position by a latch engaging the spring tensioner. This latch is released by a solenoid operated wheel carried on the main bearing axis. This wheel may also operate the clutch and one or all of the switches. The wheel configuration determines the type of action given by the timer. Provision is made for on delay, off delay, interval, instantaneous switch operation and many other combinations.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1974Date of Patent: April 13, 1976Assignee: Deltrol CorporationInventor: John L.
