  • Patent number: 9787036
Abstract: A connector includes a switch, a button configured to move a card of the switch, a spring connected to the button, and a connection terminal connected to the switch. When another connector is inserted into the connector, the connection terminal contacts a connection terminal of the other connector, and when the other connector is further inserted, the button is pressed by the other connector to move the card to close the switch to allow electric power to be supplied from the connector to the other connector, and the spring has its locking part engaging with an engaging part of the housing of the connector. When the other connector is pulled off of the connector, the spring has its locking part disengaging from the engaging part to open the switch, with the connection terminals contacting each other, to interrupt the supply of electric power.

  • Patent number: 5934455
Abstract: A manually operated switch device with small operating play and precise function for the control of electrical equipment which includes a switch housing which has stationary contacts adapted thereto, and a contact bridging element with moving contacts which is adapted to be movable. The switch is operated by means of an actuating member which is movable in the interior of the switch housing and which is capable of transferring, by a rotational motion of the actuating member, the moving contacts for engaging and disengaging with the stationary contacts, and by means of a transmission means for converting the rotational motion of the actuating member into an axial motion. Springs are adapted to cooperate with the transmission means for exerting a spring force onto said transmission means for engaging and disengaging said contacts by having at least two springs located at the opposite sides of the actuating member for exerting a symmetrical spring force on said actuating member and said transmission means.

  • Patent number: 5488212
Abstract: Disclosed is a switching device for a tap changer comprising an input lever and an output lever rotatably attached to a shaft. The output lever is provided for making contact with a selected one of a first tap and a second tap. The output lever has a cammed surface at its base for securing a position of the output lever to make contact with the first tap and for preventing the output lever from rotating about the shaft. The device also includes a spring for pulling the output lever toward the input lever, and a clutch, rotatably attached to the shaft, which has a slot. A latching apparatus engages the clutch. The device further includes a pin which is fixedly attached to the input lever and disposed within the slot. The pin drives the clutch to engage the latching apparatus. In operation, after the input lever has been pulled away from the output lever by a predetermined angle, the pin drives the clutch to engage the latching apparatus, thereby freeing the cammed surface from the latching apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5226528
Abstract: A switch actuator includes an operator plate which provides a structure for mounting the actuator and for supporting the remaining parts. An operator shaft receives torque from an operating handle and via mechanical coupling, transmits torque to a torque plate subassembly. The torque plate compresses a torsion spring which provides temporary energy storage for the switch actuator. The torsion spring acts on a reaction plate subassembly which mechanically couples the torque generated by the spring to a rotor tube to operate the switch contacts. A spring guide subassembly maintains the spring in a predefined region to prevent the spring from deforming into a non-energy storing position during operation. The operator shaft, torque plate, reaction plate, spring guide, and spring are nested substantially concentrically about a predefined mounting axis.
