Contact Carrier Snaps In Opposite Direction From Actuator Patents (Class 200/435)
  • Patent number: 6784390
Abstract: An electrical switch having a casing, at least two fixed contacts and a corresponding moving contact. The moving contact has two parts contactable with the fixed contacts respectively thereby closing the switch. An operating member is supported for movement for moving the moving contact to close the switch. A spring acts upon the moving contact such that its two parts are inclined at an acute angle relative to the fixed contacts, with at least one of the parts being spaced apart from the corresponding fixed contact while the switch is open. The moving contact is movable such that said at least one or both of its parts comes or come into contact with the corresponding fixed contact or contacts against the action of the spring. In particular, the moving contact is movable against the action of the spring to have its two parts turning through said acute angle until both parts are in contact with the corresponding fixed contacts.

  • Patent number: 6288352
Abstract: A push-button switch provided with a hollow push button, a case supporting it, and a switching mechanism having a first contact disposed within the case and a second contact disposed opposite to the first contact, with one of its ends being inserted into a hole of the push button. Within a hole formed in an inserted section of the switching mechanism, a slide block is provided slidably in a direction crossing the direction in which the push button is pushed. A slope capable of engaging with a slope of the hole of the push button is formed on the slide block. A coil spring (return spring) for energizing a shaft of the switching mechanism so as to abut the push button is provided on the bottom of the case. This configuration enables the push button to take up a first OFF state, an ON state and a second OFF state in order of depression.

  • Patent number: 6140897
Abstract: This concerns a molded case circuit breaker having separable main contacts and an operating mechanism structured to cause the separable main contacts to open and close. A trip unit is provided to actuate the operating mechanism in desirable circumstances. The circuit breaker housing has an auxiliary device compartment therein into which may be inserted a key lock arrangement. The trip unit has a plunger member which protrudes into the auxiliary device compartment and which, when actuated, causes the trip unit to actuate the operating mechanism to open the main contacts. When the key lock is actuated, a slideable member interacts with the plunger member in the trip unit and maintains the trip unit in a configuration that prevents the main contacts from engaging. Thus, as long as the lock member is maintained in the locked state, the circuit breaker may not be reset.
