For Bus-duct Type Patents (Class 200/50.2)
  • Patent number: 9337596
Abstract: A motor control center system is provided. The system includes an electrical enclosure configured to house one or more compartments. The electrical enclosure includes a vertical ground bus adjacent to the one or more compartments. The component unit is removably disposed within a compartment of the electrical enclosure. The system also includes a ground stab system disposed on an exterior surface of the component unit. The ground stab system is configured to operatively couple with the vertical ground bus when the component unit is inserted into the compartment of the electrical enclosure, and the ground stab system includes an alignment bracket configured to align the ground stab system with the vertical ground bus.

  • Publication number: 20080202899
Abstract: A bus system is disclosed for use with switching devices, such as power electronic devices. The system includes generally parallel bus elements that define electrical reference planes, such as for a dc bus. The bus elements are separated from one another by insulative layers, with additional insulative layers being available for separating the system from other circuit components. Portions of the bus elements are extended or exposed to permit connection to the circuit elements, including packaged switching circuits and energy storage or filtering circuits. The bus system may be conformed to a variety of geometric configurations, and substantially reduces parasitic inductance and total loop inductance in the resulting circuitry.

  • Patent number: 7311538
Abstract: A bus to tap-off device interlock having a first position wherein the tap-off device can be installed or removed from the busway section and a second position in which an installed tap-off device can not be removed from the busway section and an uninstalled tap-off device can not be installed onto a busway section. The interlock is movable between the first and second positions by operation of an operating handle that controls the OFF or OPEN and ON or CLOSED state of an electrical disconnect device located inside the tap-off device.

  • Patent number: 7286340
Abstract: An adapter is for mounting an electrical switching apparatus, such as a circuit breaker, on the back panel of an enclosure, such as a switchgear cabinet. The back panel has at least one aperture. The adapter includes a first end portion coupled at or about the aperture of the back panel, an engaging portion engaging and securing the circuit breaker to the adapter, a fastener, and a second end portion disposed distal from the first end portion and including an elongated slot. The elongated slot receives the fastener in order to couple the adapter to the back panel when the fastener is fastened, while enabling adjustment of the adapter and the circuit breaker coupled thereto, with respect to the back panel, when the fastener is unfastened. The first end portion, the engaging portion and the second end portion form a single piece adapter. An enclosure assembly is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7277294
Abstract: An electrical contactor draw out tray has a movable frame and a stationary frame in which the movable frame carries the electrical components for an electrical feeder circuit. The stationary frame is preferably housed within a power distribution center and has input terminals for the incoming electrical power and output terminals for delivering electrical power to equipment operating on the feeder circuit. The movable frame carries the contactors that control the flow of electricity through the apparatus as well as the electrical components to monitor conditions of the apparatus and various parameters for the electricity carried therein to for conditions such as short circuits, overloads, ground faults, overvoltages and undervoltages. A disconnect mechanism locks the movable frame relative the stationary frame and provides a primary means for disengaging electrical flow through the apparatus.
