  • Patent number: 11581154
Abstract: A power tool includes an electric motor, an output member selectively driven by the electric motor and a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery. The power tool also includes a switch trigger moveable between a first position and a second position. The switch trigger inhibits electrical communication between the battery and the electric motor while the switch trigger is in the first position. The switch trigger operates a switch to provide electrical communication between the electric motor and the battery while the switch trigger is in the second position. A lock actuator prevents movement of the switch trigger to the second position while the lock actuator is in a locked position, and the lock actuator permits movement of the switch trigger to the second position while in an unlocked position. The lock actuator is biased into the unlocked position while the battery is positioned in the receptacle.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a power switch, an elastic force member adjacent to the power switch, a triggering member fixed on the elastic force member to trigger the power switch, and an elastic reposition member. The triggering member is capable of sliding between a first position and a second position relative to the power switch. The elastic reposition member provides elastic force to move the triggering member from the first position to the second position. In the first position, the triggering member faces the power switch and can be pressed to trigger the power switch. In the second position, the triggering member is away from the power switch.

Abstract: A trigger mechanism with soft stops and associated method for activating a switch in a device or apparatus. The trigger mechanism includes a trigger receptacle, a trigger disposed in the trigger receptacle and movable between an un-actuated and an actuated position by a user depressing the trigger, and a soft stop comprised of at least one projection positioned to engage a resilient elastomeric insert. Moving the trigger from the un-actuated to actuated position compresses the elastomeric insert with the projection and activates the switch to provide a tactile sensation of the switch activation to the user. The switch may be an electric switch disposed in a hand held device, such as a barcode scanner in some embodiments.

Abstract: An electrical switch has a fixed contact and a moving contact arranged for movement between an ON position in contact with the fixed contact and an OFF position out of contact with the fixed contact, and an operating member for operating the moving contact. A spring co-acts between the operating member and the moving contact and resiliently biases the moving contact towards each of the ON and OFF positions through an over-centre action of the spring. An end piece is fitted at each end of the spring, which has a formation, for example, a groove, for pure rotary engagement with a part, for example, a pin, movable with the operating member or moving contact for imparting resilient action upon the operating member or the moving contact.

Releasing the operation part make the movable contact separate from the fixed contact, simultaneously making the auxiliary contact bridging over the slide plate parts cause a break of the contact with the slide plate part.
