  • Patent number: 8212170
Abstract: A movable contact point board provided with contact points is urged in a direction of being away from stationary contact points by return springs each having the same size and the same characteristic, and is arranged as opposed to the stationary contact points. Return springs have the respective ends for supporting locations in the movable contact point board which are away from each other as having the contact points in the movable contact point board therebetween and support heights of the return springs at the stationary side differ with each other by D. When a plunger equipped with a holding portion having a flat surface as a bottom surface presses the movable contact point board, the contact point in the movable contact point board gets in contact with the stationary contact point at an inclined posture.

  • Patent number: 5939989
Abstract: An electronic switch includes a rigid base, a circuit board supported by the base which includes an aperture therethrough defined, at least in part, by spaced apart conductive terminals of an electrically conductive circuit, a resiliently flexible casing attached to the base and overlying the circuit board, and a plunger attached to the casing and extending therefrom through the circuit board aperture. The plunger includes a conductive portion which is adjacent to the casing, and a non-conductive portion. The casing is resiliently biased so as to normally position the plunger such that the non-conductive portion thereof extends through the circuit board aperture. Depression of the casing, however, places the conductive portion within the aperture and into contact with the spaced apart conductive terminals to close the electrically conductive circuit. The electronic switch may be utilized in connection with, for example, a drowsiness warning device which includes a band securable about a wearer's neck.

  • Patent number: 5749458
Abstract: A low profile, push-pull, jumper switch that relies on movement of an electrically-insulating switch housing to make and break the connection between two contact members mounted on the surface of a PCB or other substrate. The only metal used are the two contact members and a fixed wire in the housing. The wire is forced into contact with the contact members to electrically interconnect them by movement of the housing when placed in its closed-switch position. In a preferred embodiment, the two contact members are identical and are each constituted of a one-piece U-shaped metal member, with the U-bight depending from the housing and configured to be solderable to the PCB pads or through-holes and thus being fixed. The contact members are configured to latch the housing in its open-switch position or closed-switch position. The switch lends itself to SMT applications.

  • Patent number: 5321218
Abstract: An electrical connector, for example a lampholder comprises an on/off switch mechanism including a push bar. The connector further comprises a locking arrangement including an interlock member which extends to the pushbar and moves into and out of cooperation with an aperture in the pushbar. When a cooperating device, for example a lamp, is inserted into the connector the interlock member moves axially into the lampholder to a position at which the pushbar is free to move between "on" and "off" positions. When no cooperating device is connected, the interlock member prevents movement of the pushbar. The pushbar and the interlock member include respective inclined surfaces arranged such that the pushbar will be moved to the "off" position when a cooperating device is removed from the connector.
