  • Patent number: 5493478
Abstract: A cam actuated control device (10) is provided. The control device (10) includes at least two momentary switches (13, 14) which are surface mounted on a circuit substrate (12). An actuating member (20) having a contoured cam surface (25) is movably positioned proximate to the switches (13, 14) such that movement of the actuating member (20) selectively actuates the switches (13, 14) to produce a binary encoded output.

  • Patent number: 5224592
Abstract: The disclosure relates to high-voltage change-over switches that are used to apply high voltage alternately to two X-ray tubes. Each of the four switch devices constituting a change-over switch includes a fixed contact element connected to an input terminal of the high voltage and a movable contact element connected to an output terminal by a curved, flexible strip, the shifting of which is obtained by a hinged arm that is actuated by an insulator sleeve surrounding the strip. The rotation of the sleeve in one direction causes contact through a hole in the wall of the sleeve while rotation in the reverse direction causes the contact elements to move away from each other and gives rise to the interposition of the insulator wall between the contact elements at a distance. The disclosed device can be applied to radiology installations.

  • Patent number: 5063364
Abstract: A microwave C-, T- or S-switch has an actuator of circular shape that is rotated by a suitable motor. Each conductor path of the switch contains a connector having two positions, one position connecting the conductor path and a second position interrupting the conductor path. The conductor paths and connectors are enclosed within a housing and a pin is mounted on each connector and extends outside of the housing through a suitable opening. Each pin is spring-mounted so that the conductor path is connected when the pin is depressed and interrupted when the pin is released. The actuator is shaped and mounted to override the pins, the actuator containing one or more ridges and one or more indentations. When a ridge overrides a pin, the pin is depressed and the conductor path is connected. When an indentation overrides a pin, the pin is released and the conductor path is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 4996397
Abstract: Two disks per vacuum switch tube are mounted on a drive shaft, the disks having grooves running around the drive shaft and open in relation to one another. In the grooves of two of these disks, a cylindrical follower is guided, the movement of which is transmitted via a link to a swivel lever and to a movable switch contact. The drive shaft is driven, supported via a releasable support member in the switch-on and in the switch-off position, in a clockwise direction by the spiral spring in order to switch off or switch on the power switch. The follower is restrictedly guided in the grooves of the disks, whereby the position of the movable switch contact is obliged to correspond to the corresponding rotation position of the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4962290
Abstract: A mechanism for providing electrical or pneumatic signals indicative of the rotation position of a rotatable shaft includes a switch housing mounted on a base with a cam shaft passing upward through the base and supporting one or more cam elements for cooperating with electrical switches contained within the housing. The base is especially designed to support a flared drum on the outer surface of which are graphic characters viewable through a window on a fixed indicator cover and visible from above and the sides for visibly displaying the orientation of the rotary shaft. The mounting mechanism including a system of brackets and spacers permits the device to be used with a variety of devices incorporating a rotatable shaft.

  • Patent number: 4816628
Abstract: An air gap switch is operated by a non-conductive rotatable indexing cam switch which rotates relative to two electrical contacts resiliently disposed on opposite sides of the cam. A spider with depending conductive legs is mounted on the cam. Rotation of the cam alternatively connects and disconnects the electrical contacts wherein the connection, when made, is completed through the conductive spider located on the cam. The cam is operated, pushbutton style, by depressing a main shaft relative to the housing of the air switch. The main shaft engages projections on the index cam which step the cam through a plurality of index positions.
