  • Patent number: 9243806
Abstract: A gas-fired kitchen appliance, comprises (a) a food preparation zone (10); (b) a burner nozzle (12) for supplying heat to said food preparation zone (10); (c) an electromagnetic valve (16) which when energized allows gas to be supplied to the burner nozzle (12) and which when deenergized blocks the gas supply to the burner nozzle; (d) a thermocouple (32) located in proximity of the burner nozzle (12), the thermocouple when heated energizing the electromagnetic valve (16); (e) a cover element (36) associated to said food preparation zone (10), said cover element being movable between a first position which allows normal operation of said food preparation zone and at least one second position in which said food preparation zone is non-operable or idling; and (f) a switching element (34) associated to said cover element (36) and arranged to interrupt the supply of electric energy from the thermocouple (32) to the electromagnetic valve (16) when the cover element (36) is in said second position.

  • Patent number: 7238901
Abstract: Disclosed is a tamper resistant PIN entry apparatus for input of a key and for encryption of a password in a cash transaction machine. The PIN entry apparatus supplies the electric power to a memory of an electric circuit section, in such a manner that a first rod and a second rod of a rear case connect contacts of a key scan board, wherein the first rod is protruded on the rear of a key module including a button provided substantially on the front of the key module and the second rod of the rear case is coupled with the rear of the key module. At this time, in case that the rear case is removed from the key module or damaged, thereby changing the location of any one of the first and the second rods at the contact, the electric circuit section detects the event and destroys the memory itself physically. Otherwise, the electric circuit section makes information stored in the memory physically or softwarely unreadable, thereby preventing the leakage of the information.

  • Patent number: 7230194
Abstract: Structure and method for forming a switchable shunt for a suspension assembly having conductive, insulating and metal base layers. The shunt includes a bridge in the conductive layer with either a continuous connection or small gap between ends of the bridge. The continuous connection of the bridge is severed either by temporarily moving the lands out of their original plane by stretching and rupturing the bridge or by shearing the continuous connection of the bridge. For the sheared or gapped bridge, at least one end of the bridge is moved out of plane, compressed and elongated. When released, the separated ends of the bridge overlap and contact each other to form a normally-closed switch. To subsequently open the switchable shunt, at least one of the lands is moved out of plane to physically and electrically open the connection between the separated and overlapped ends of the bridge.
