Moisture Patents (Class 200/DIG40)
  • Patent number: 5459446
Abstract: A miniature aircraft type circuit breaker (10') has a threaded mounting bushing (18) in which a push button (20) is slidably received. Push button (20) is coupled to a movable contact arm (24) to move a movable electrical contact (26) into and out of engagement with a stationary electrical contact (28). A flexible fluid splash barrier sleeve (32) is telescopically received on a reduced diameter portion (34) of push button (20) above a white indicator portion (30) of the push button and has a lower distal end portion (36) which engages an annular top surface (38) of the bushing when push button (20) is depressed to bring the electrical contacts into engagement. Adhesive material may be used to affix the barrier sleeve to the reduced diameter portion (34) which optionally can have a roughened surface to enhance adhesion.

  • Patent number: 5188143
Abstract: A water leakage detector is disclosed herein sensitive to the presence of moisture, having an elongated sensor strip comprising a pair of conductors separated by insulation. Each conductor includes an electrode coupling with a wire lead extending via a cable to an electrical plug. A circuit housing is provided having an audible alarm operably connected to an electrical socket adapted to detachably connect with the plug. A low voltage battery and auxiliary output socket are carried on the housing and connected with the alarm and the first mentioned socket whereby the presence of moisture across the pair of sensor conductors activates the alarm. A battery test pair of electrodes is provided to manually test battery condition.

  • Patent number: 4348993
Abstract: A water protecting cap used for a distributor, which is to distribute ignition voltage in an internal combustion engine, with the object of preventing water from coming into the interior of a casing of the distributor through a ventilation opening formed in the casing. The cap is composed of a body portion to be crowned on a tower portion embracing the ventilation opening therein and a tongue portion integrally formed with the former. Between the body portion and the tongue portion a sheltered space is confined, which is protected from water spray which might come to the inside of the engine room of a vehicle. A ventilation passage formed through the cap body portion for being communicated to the ventilation opening is opened at the other end thereof at a position innermostly located in the sheltered space.
