Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing oxygen from a crude inert gas containing oxygen as a contaminant is disclosed. The inert gas is passed through a reactor containing an oxidizable material. The reactor is then regenerated via a gaseous reducing agent such as hydrogen. The hydrogen can be generated on site via water or steam hydrolysis.
Abstract: An electrolytic pre-enrichment of a feed stream to a combined electrolysis nd catalytic exchange ("CECE") heavy water production process. A deuterium enriched liquid or vapour stream from electrolytic cells is applied as a feed to the first stage of a CECE deuterium enrichment process. By deploying a portion of available electrolytic cell capacity in the pre-enrichment stage, advantages are achieved, particularly where available electrical power fluctuates or when a "turned down" CECE process is desired.

Abstract: The method of removing sulfurous compounds (organic and inorganic) from any fluid (gas or liquid) phase by contacting said fluid (gas or liquid) with the reactive metal to form a metal sulfide recovering said fluid (gas or liquid) free from said sulfurous compound and containing compounds free from sulfur and recovering electrochemically said reactive metal from said sulfur to return said metal to elemental form to release elemental sulfur, said separating being done at temperatures above melting point of sulfur.
Abstract: A hydrogen storing member which comprises at least two kinds of hydrogen storing materials comprising a first hydrogen storing material and a second hydrogen storing material capable of releasing or storing hydrogen in a range of at least one of temperature and pressure at which the first hydrogen storing material is in the .beta. phase having a high capacity for storing hydrogen.
