  • Patent number: 11313829
Abstract: Provided herein is a wet protein blotting system comprising (a) a dry assembly module; (b) a protein blotting chamber; (c) a liquid transfer buffer handling system; and (d) a control panel and power supply. The wet protein blotting systems provided herein reduces the blotting time of a traditional wet blotting process while maintaining the ability for high sensitivity in the transfer of proteins from a polyacrylamide gel to a membrane. Also provided are dry assembly modules and liquid transfer buffer handling systems that enable a fully automatic buffer manipulation system by one or more than one transfer buffers could be pumped into the protein blotting chamber to enhance the transfer efficiency. Also provided is a protein blotting chamber capable of controlling the temperature of the wet protein blotting system.

Abstract: A collapsible ashtray that, when expanded, forms the geometric shape of an inverted pyramid or inverted cone. One or more cover(s) extend(s) from one or more of the panels, which are defined between successive fold lines. The fold lines extend in radial directions and converge toward an apex of the inverted pyramid or inverted cone shape. The covers and/or one of the panels may have engaging complementary configurations or male and female connectors that retain the cover in the closed condition. The cover is sized to keep cigarette butts within the confines of the geometric shape if the body is flipped over from the inverted position.

  • Patent number: 4577758
Abstract: The ashtray of this invention comprises a folded member having a substantially V-shaped cross-section formed by two panels with a common side. The adjoining sides of the two panels contiguous to the common side are adapted for contact with a supporting surface to support the panels thereon in an upright position, the two sides defining the bottom side of the ashtray. The two panels then define an angular space there between, the angular space having an apical portion near the common side of the panels. The ashtray further comprises an upper member connected to the two panels for supporting cigarettes or cigars in substantially horizontal positions. The upper member is spaced apart from the common side of the panels to allow the lighted ends of cigarettes or cigars to protrude into the apical portion and to allow ashes from such lighted ends to fall through the apical portion towards the bottom side of the ashtray.
